29. Do you have to turn everything into campaign fodder?
What is wrong with you that we can't just miss Molly without you throwing stuff like this in?

22. She came to New Orleans a few years ago.
I'm trying to remember the exchange between my step-father and Molly. They were talking and I snapped a funny photo of her looking exasperated at one of his questions. He was an attorney for over 40 years and was a State Supreme Court nominee (he turned it down), so his questions were not at all easy for her to answer. One of his questions was something along the lines of, "do you think we will become such a fascist nation that the media and courts will begin to abide by Bush." She replied that she did not think it would go that far (this was in 2002), but she later wrote a few pieces recanting her position. I believe she had him in mind when she wrote them, and had judged too quickly how far the Bushler regime would go. I also remember him mention Habeas Corpus and the suspension of our rights. She did think the Congress would let it get that far. Unfortunately, she was wrong.

We all miss her a lot. I haven't read the Houston Chronicle since.

30. Thanks Swamp Rat, I was lucky enough to see her on stage
When she did a speaking tour with Al Franken.
Unfortunately he did most of the talking. I'm guessing it's cause she was sick so he was doing the heavy lifting, but that's just speculation. Anyway, it was important to me to see her with my own eyes.

25. I was living just west of Austin last year
And word was out that she had gone home to die. What an incredible loss. I know it's reaching way back but it's times like these I really miss John Lennon too.

26. She almost got me killed
I went to see her speak at a Baptist Chapel.

She told an incredibly offensive joke. The punchline was "You just passed a law that says a prick can't touch an asshole."

I'm not a religious man but for a minute or two I was sure that God was gonna smite the whole damn building.

So yes, I miss the hell out of her.

31. I was just thinking the same thing yesterday while reading GDP
She would probably be able to cut to the chase and shut half of them up with just a few words of common sense, and make us all laugh at the same time because they were just so obviously TRUE.

35. I miss Molly, too
I met her in Seattle several years ago after she gave a lecture. She was funny and gracious.

To this day, I am so grateful that I told her in person that she is the Goddess of Journalism. She and Helen Thomas are national treasures.
