"In Dante's Inferno, the lowest circles of Hell are reserved for traitors..."
"Outside legal spheres, the word *traitor* may also be used a person who betrays (or is accused of betraying) their own political party,
nation, family, friends, ethnic group, religion, social class, or other group to which they may belong."

Definitions found under "Treason." - Wikipedia

Anyone come to mind?

1. I wouldn't call her a traitor, because she never really was a Democrat--
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 02:43 PM by wienerdoggie
she and Bill just grafted themselves onto the party for power. They've always been, at heart, a party of two--the Clinton party. They never gave a shit about the party, watched it lose big time in the 90's even while he won--and if the party ever grew the balls to marginalize them, we'd see real Democrats start to win again.

edit to add--I suppose you're talking about someone else? Why did my mind "go there"?

5. That's who came to mind--the "Democrat" who endorsed our Republican opponent.
I guess this post is like a political Rorshach test. Wasn't trying to be funny.

2. Well, Bush betrayed his nation through leading it into an unjust, unnecessary and illegal war,
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 03:10 PM by FVZA_Colonel
he betrated his religion through completely ignoring the social consciousness and moral values Jesus Christ taught and instead used his name to piss all over his enemies...

What else would fit?

7. Why? It's just a literary quote, followed by a definition. No opinions, nothing about
anyone in particular...
so I thought it'd be appropriate for the Discussion forum.

10. Please don't parse our current primary discussion standards. If you
have a point to make about one of our candidates, post it in General Discussion - Primaries. If this is about something else, go for it.
