OMG! Tweety skools Scarborough on patriotism...

You're unbelievable Joe, you patronized this guy.

..................

Scarborough was discussing Murphy with Matthews as his segment started and said "He's what the Democrats have needed for so long, it's been so easy to beat up Democrats as sort of weak on defense" and "This guys the real deal" when Matthews cut in with "So let me get this right, If you're a Democrat you have to have about four or five battle ribbons to be OK but if you're a republican you can be Dick Cheney with four or five deferments. That's the rule." and "Democrat's start about four notches down from patriotism and have to work their way up."

Matthews later added "But if you're a republican the National Guard will do, I mean I love these standards you know, you got to be Audie Murphy if you're a Democrat. You're unbelievable Joe, you patronized this guy."

Scarborough suddenly went from laughing banter mode to looking like he was slapped and started to stammer out an 'it's only politics' type of defense when Tweety dropped the hammer.

"...But it's possible that the notion the Republicans have of foreign policy is wrong. That maybe their notion of patriotism is wrong. Maybe in having all these wars, Grenada, Panama, list them, all these kind of bite sized wars have ended up being more than we've been able to swallow. They look like bite sized wars to begin with, so alot of times I would look for judgment in policy making and defining where America's role should be in the world. That's the debate. Not just the G.I. Joe but what's the right thing for America to be doing in the world? We get this straight we won't have a hard time casting these roles."

2. Perhaps he saw Olberman's ratings and exposure ..

Olberman is the star over there and perhaps he has seen that pandering to Republicans doesn't get the big ratings anymore.

3. That's fine right now, but he'll be back to "normal" Tweety by tonight
If there's one thing Tweety isn't, it's consistent.

15. Tweety shocked me today
He seems to know something and he's very angry with the Rethugs.
I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

tomorrow and start fawning over the latest Republican "manly" candidate. I will never forget his on-air near-orgasm over Dubya in his flight suit.

7. Every now and then, Tweety will lash out of his box and come out with courageous statements.
I'm sure he'll be chained back in shortly.

A blast into the recent past re the Libby trial

FINEMAN: Well, because the furiousness of their defense here is tragic and comic in retrospect. In the spring and summer of ‘03, I was on the receiving end of some of these phone call for some of what I wrote. Not about Joe Wilson but other things speculating about the vice president‘s motives. And the vice president‘s office was all over everybody. And I think the reason they were so furious was because the president didn‘t know what Dick Cheney was doing half the time. And Cheney didn‘t want to get caught. That‘s my theory.

MATTHEWS: Well, I got visited by at least three archangels of death from that time from that same direction that didn‘t like what I was saying.

10. It must be the diabetes, makes people like Tweety moody
I have diabetes just like good old Tweety and know all about those mood swings when our sugar just isn't right, too high or too low. That's the only thing I can come up with as he is all over the place most of the time. I'm glad he at least stunned Joe for a moment.

12. be careful, Jennicut,
I had a good friend, a diabetic, just this week apparently blacked out, crossed the turn lane, and hit another car head-on. He was killed, as were two in the other car. Speculation was he may have been trying to get to the hospital.

17. I am really sorry. I am a diabetic as well.
I know how hard it is and it is very stressful. I need to joke about it every now and then as it such a serious disease and having to check my blood all the time and take insulin shots can be such a downer. I am very sorry that happened to your friend. I have passed out only once and luckily I was at home.

11. Well, It's about time somebody slapped the hell out of Joe
I haven't liked him when he was a nobody from my home town. He's a sick right wing mouthpiece for Bush. When he helped Harris thieve the 2000 election for Bush was his claim to fame. You don't know how bad he bashed the democratic party and the Clintons going into the 2000 elections. He should be fired.

Speaking of KO, he is ok except he has no problem going after his own. He spends his whole hour slimming Clinton and distorting everything she says instead of going after the repuke party. If a commentator is going to go after it's own day after day then they should not be in that position to influence people. He needs to concentrate on the republicans because they are starting to come after our two candidates. While KO slams a democratic candidate, FOX, Limbaugh etc. is starting to make there posture against our two candidates.

13. Maybe Tucker getting the axe is beginning to resonate a little
It is possible that this "Neo Conservativism" is beginning to wear very thin and Tweety is just bright enough to pick up on it..

14. This is why tweety's sexist statements are so infuriating, if he were a typical idiot you could just
dismiss them with all he says.

But when you have someone who CAN say intelligent things you expect more.

To whom much is given, much is expected.
