For all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: |
|
It might have been!
JOHN EDWARDS FOR PRESIDENT
I am tiring fast of the others. Tired of the infighting of supporters and denouncers alike.
I need to go back to that place in my mind where I smiled at John and Elizabeth. Where I could feel hope and happiness for us and for our kids. That feeling is now gone and I don't think it will come back. Somehow John and Elizabeth seemed to make things right. They seemed to convey to us a sense that things would get better, the feeling that real issues were addressed.
As I contemplate where we are going as a country and as a people, I find these words by John Greenleaf Whittier all the more compelling.

I had just gotten home from the post office, sending in my absentee ballot, when he suspended his candidacy.

like Barrie and I THOUGHT I could force myself to vote for Hils. But she's proven to be as disgusting as he is.
Now I don't know what the hell to do.

5. One thing to keep in mind: |
|
Sen. Obama's and Sen. Clinton's supporters are tearing at each other with rusty hooks...even though neither look like they will be able to reach the number of delegates needed to win the nomination before the Convention. The super-delegates could well turn this into an open convention.
It's not impossible that they'd decide neither Obama nor Clinton can win since some portion of each's supporters would fail to vote for the other. Even more would probably not work very hard for the nominee. So, the super-delegates might well decide that in the interest of the Democratic Party that they should choose someone else. Edwards is one of several possible good alternatives.
I think the possibility is somewhere between slim and remote, but it's possible.
