Plus, I have serious concerns about the mental health of anyone who has been subjected to torture, and held in a POW camp for 5 years.

If they can get away with a mental corpse, then they'll get away with a physical one if they at all can. Count on it.

see: HPPA
HPPA is for everybody. it's a civil rights issue.
now, anybody can say they won't vote for him, or anybody who does not disclose detailed health records.
THAT is one's right. your vote is your right.
but medical privacy applies to presidential candidates as much as anybody

Now if he chooses to open up his records thats a different story, but, HPPA shuts this argument down.
Now, when will Hillary's tax records be released?
As a presidential candidate dont we have the right to see how much she donates to charities, and where her income comes from?

in that we can NOT vote for her if she doesn't want to disclose same.
similar to the HPPA thang. she is not compelled to disclose, but we aint compelled to vote for her if she doesn't.
that seems fair.

the presidency is to important to trust to someone who is physically or mentally sick . I realise that this is a huge invasion but the candidates want to be the leader of the "free" world --and that is to important to leave to chance
edit--yes , I know FDR and JFK had serious health issues

10. Warren Harding had spent time in a sanitarium.. |

after suffering from a nervous breakdown. How wonder how that would play in this day and age?
Bush has obviously very successfully hidden his mental issues.

12. Then there is Grover Cleveland's secret cancer surgeries... |

...done on a houseboat on the Hudson, I think.
While there is a fine line between privacy and the public's right to know, I would like to be "officially" assured by McCain that he is fit to serve, with only the medical records released that need to prove that. Him getting in front of reporters and claiming that his doctors have given him a clean bill, while he in fact at times looks like death warmed over, raises questions.
And, while I don't mean to sound ageist, the age that he will be if he takes office is also a concern. I think it would do him well to disclose as much as necessary to confirm his physical fitness to hold office.

He never turned over his health records. So no, I don't expect a candidate to turn over health records.
