Apparently, Wilcox hospital has a policy that allows pet visitations, but it only refers to cats and dogs and not large animals like horses.

"On Kauai, we have a very warm inviting atmosphere at Wilcox," Yukimura said, according to the Associated Press. "We just hope people understand this is not a place for a horse

6. I'd find it soothing, but not all would agree.
There are issues of allergies, asthma, etc. for all involved.

3. Well, that's just indefensible.
I'm sure they'll be hearing from the horse anti-defecation league. :hi:

5. while i can
understand a hospital not allowing pets into certain wards, i think allowing pets is in general probably a good policy.

study after study( plus common sense) support that pets help lower people's stress levels, blood pressure, improve their physical and mental health, etc. etc. etc.

iow, pets can be both preventive medicine and help us heal ourselves.

stress alone can make recovery more difficult, increase susceptibility to illness, etc. etc.

apart from when they are vomiting on the rug :) my cats definitely relieve stress

7. My husband just had surgery
When I was on the elevator two days ago, a man came in holding a poodle. He said he was visiting his wife and bringing his "daughter" to see Mommy.

Is that the side effect, or will we be seeing Hospital Rodeo?
