Here's how to prevent the end of the world...Is there any proof that a hidden imam is not thinking of political policies for America and then posting them anonymously on message boards? Is there any guarantee a proposed political policy for America posted on a message board -- or an idea inspired by such a posted message -- will not come to Obama's attention and influence Obama?
I dare say that Senator H. Clinton needs to expand her body of knowledge. As far as she knows, Obama is not Islamic, but where is our watertight guarantee that no Islamic mind will ever influence him?
Furthermore, what guarantees that Salman Rushdie is not posting policy ideas anonymously on message boards and influencing the policies of the Al Qaeda, the Taliban, etc?
If we are destined to have Obama as a President of the United States influenced by some shadowy Islamic mind and we are destined to have Al Qaeda and the Taliban influenced by the mind of Salman Rushdie, then the result could be an epic but catastrophic confrontation that would likely make WWII look like a mere riot in Paris.
We must defend against this hazard at all costs. There are three choices: we can immediately end internet anonymity by means of a revision to international law, we can support Senator H. Clinton or we can support Senator John McCain. It's difficult to see any fourth option.
GDP, March 21, 2008: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5192447 OP by Walter Sobchak: Why are there so many more Hillary posts than Lee Mercer, Jr. posts?Both of these fine candidates have the same chance of winning the nomination at this point. Sadly, I'm not surprised that Mercer isn't getting too many posts since he has basically no chance of winning the nomination by this point. But since Hillary also has basically no chance, it seems a little strange that there are so many Hillary posts.

Senator Barack Obama today announced a new and powerful endorsement in his campaign for the Democratic Presidential nomination - that of himself.
"I made the decision last week," Obama said, "But my recent speech on race relations has reassured me: I am the one I have been waiting for."
Obama further explained that he seriously considered endorsing Hillary Clinton, but was unhappy with her recent negative campaign tactics. He described the telephone conversation in which he told the Clintons about his endorsement as "heated."
"Bill Clinton, much as I respect him, appears to believe that I owe him a debt of gratitude since he, as the first black President, blazed the trail I am following." Obama said. However," he continued, "I believe that I am a stronger candidate against John McCain in the general election, and that is part of the reason that I, Barack Obama, am endorsing myself, Barack Obama for President.
Obama's self-endorsement caps off a week during which he announced another important endorsement - that of New Mexico governor Bill Richardson. Several high-ranking Democrats are still uncommitted in the nomination fight. John Edwards is expected to endorse Hillary Clinton before the North Carolina primary. Former Vice President Al Gore's intentions are unknown, and Bill Clinton is expected to endorse John McCain.

By Hugh Jassmunch | March 24, 2008 - 17:02 ET
In the heated race for the nomination, the Obama campaign may have finally been hit with a scandal that spells demise for Barack Obama's Presidential aspirations. There is little doubt that Hillary Clinton supporters are breathing easier after the revelation that the Obama camp spent campaign money on decorative napkin holders at Tiffany's to the tune of Five hundred Seventy-Two dollars and twenty-five cents. Obama campaign spokeswoman, Jen Psaki is doing her best to keep a lid on the scandal and said,
"That's all we're going with this... we're done talking about it." Another campaign staffer spoke on condition of anonymity; "Yes, we realize what this means to all the campaign donors out there, and I can't express how disappointed we all are in Mr. Obama for this. We had such great hopes."Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign has released a statement regarding the scandal;
"Although we are very sad to hear about this, Mr. Obama's character has been called into question before due to his association with people who've used foul language, not because he's black. Now we have an incident where he has spent money that was not his at a high-class department store that traditionally caters to whites, which has nothing to do with his being black, we didn't say that. How can the voters trust a man that spends money that isn't his where he's not supposed to? -Not that being black has anything to do with it."When asked if her campaign associates with anyone who uses foul language, the campaign stated that;
"We always use racially appropriate language and take every measure to make sure that no one we know or have ever known or will know in the future has, does, or will say anything that can be taken the wrong way."When asked how the campaign was going to deal with this, the Obama staffer replied;
"Well, the money was already paid back to the campaign, but since it was our donors' money to begin with, we feel we owe it to them to give it back." He went on to say; "We have over 25 million donors, so we owe them approximately .0023 cents each. We will begin mailing the checks out this week. The postage will most likely bankrupt the campaign since donations came to a complete halt over this issue. Again, we're really very sorry for Mr. Obama's actions."There is no word yet on when Barack Obama will be issuing a statement or inevitably announcing that he will be dropping out of the race for the Democratic nomination, but media hopes of an undetermined nominee until the convention have been dashed.

What's YOUR new political name?"A Senate candidate has legally changed his name to Pro-Life and will appear on the ballot that way this year, state election officials say.
As Marvin Pro-Life Richardson, the organic strawberry farmer from Letha, 30 miles northwest of Boise, was denied the use of his middle name when he ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006 because the state’s policy bars the use of slogans on the ballot.
Now, though, officials in the Idaho secretary of state’s office say they have no choice because Pro-Life is his full and only name. He says he will run for the highest state office on the ballot every two years for the rest of his life, advocating murder charges for doctors who perform abortions and for women who obtain the procedure."
Apparently he believes it'll help win him votes to run as "Pro-Life" to take over Larry Craig's seat. I think this is an exciting development in democracy. I may just change my legal name to "
Balanced-Budget McCivilrights" and see if I can't become a senator myself. Who's with me?

Snoopy presented archival footage clearly showing HIM, not Hillary, in a pitched air battle over eastern France. Snoopy also allowed the press to tour his doghouse, err, Sopwith Camel and see the bullet holes sustained during the dogfight.
Following the brief press conference, Hillary spokesperson Socks the Cat stated that the Senator says "millions of words" throughout the campaign, and that she was taken out of context by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and the comic section of every major and local newspaper in the country. Socks continued... "This does nothing to diminish her credibility as the most experienced candidate in the race, with over 100 years of government and combat experience!" When pressed for more details, Socks stormed away from the interviewer, muttering something about "why don't you ask Snoopy about Ron Brown's plane? Or Buddy the dog's "accident"???", followed by some hissing and the spitting up of a hairball consisting of both fur and Obama! bumper stickers clawed off the back of a neighbor's Toyota Prius.

GD, March 26, 2008: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3063758 OP by jgraz: New questions raised about top Clinton advisorMarch 26th, 4:45 pmHillary Clinton called on to explain 60-year association with herselfCandidate's ties to controversial politician may spell trouble for campaignSCRANTON, PA - Following several questionable "misstatements" about her trip to Bosnia, Hillary Clinton is once again being asked to justify her continuing affiliation with her campaign's most controversial figure, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Many supporters and political commentators are starting to wonder aloud why Senator Clinton has continued this relationship when it seems to be the source of so many of her problems.
"This is not just some random confidante," said Clinton expert and close friend Richard Mellon Scaife. "It's no secret that Hillary Clinton is probably the most important person in Hillary Clinton's life.
There really is no one else that even comes close. She should have expected that she would come under increased scrutiny, especially when she's been causing this many problems for Hillary's presidential campaign."
For her part, Senator Clinton addressed concerns in a press conference today. "I fully reject and denounce any offensive statements that may have been made," said the candidate. "But honestly, is it really fair that I be held accountable for everything said by me over 35 years of public life?"
She continued: "Did I know of my tendency to make untruthful statements in the past? Yes, I did. But so far, no one has been able to prove that I was even present when those things were said."
Clinton confidant James Carville was less than sympathetic. "She's a Judas!" screeched Carville. "After all the things Hillary has done for herself over the years, I can't believe she would betray herself in such a cowardly and unprofessional manner."
Aides contend that Clinton has been trying to cut ties with herself for years. They point to her heavy use of consultants, her forced speeches and manufactured tears as examples of recent attempts to develop a more acceptable persona. They are also quick to point out how unlikely it is that Hillary Clinton will play more than a token role in any upcoming Hillary Clinton administration.
