Workers found guilty of vote-rigging the same election state Kerry "lost", and Kerry announces he is not going to run on the same day? Maybe I am just hopeful...but maybe the Senator has some more investigating to do...and maybe (adjust the tin foil hat) after all is looked into it will reveal who the real winner is and voila-he doesn't have to run in 2008, cuz he is already the winner-ding-ding-ding!!!! Okay, I guess this will be flamed cuz it's retarded, right?

but misinformed.
George W. Bush was elected by the Electoral College. That can't be undone.
States send electors to the Electoral College. Ohio sent its electors for Bush.
No change in the vote count (which would be impossible to determine at this late date) would change that fact.

2. Retarded???No, STUPID???..... |
|
Might have been the appropriate word you meant to use. Retarded is not an appropriate term to use unless you are in fact refering to or are yourself a mentally retarded individual.

it's an awareness that using the word "retarded" to mean "dumb" is somewhat offensive to people with developmental problems.
We have a lot of good words that mean "stupid". We don't need to use "retarded".
It's similar to saying something is "gay". Unnecessary, and insulting.

3. I've wondered what would happen if evidence of election tampering was made available, |
|
and it was so widespread that it was certain to have changed the outcome of the election. What would happen then?
I really do not believe George Bush got the votes he supposedly got. In 2000, or 2004. Because I just find it hard to believe that many people are so stupid.

5. let's just say it doesn't work that way |
|
even if wide spread fraud is found in Ohio it won't reverse the fact, unfortunately, that Bush was certified as president and was inaugurated as such. However, it would have given Kerry a boost for '08 by showing that he actually did win the electoral vote.

a concession carries no legal weight.
It was over when the state of Ohio certified its electors for Bush. OR... to be even more technical, it was over when the Electoral College cast its votes for Bush and the congress certified the results.

9. Hmm. Not so retarded maybe. He does have a lot of investigations to do |
|
Election fraud should be high up there on the list, and perhaps it would look like a conflict of interest to investigate it while he was running again.

10. I feel the DLC picked him and now the DLC has picked Clinton. |
|
But, I also feel that Kerry is going to go on to do great things for the country. Just a gut feeling.

votes does the DLC get in any given primary or caucus?
The answer is "none".
People in the party nominated Kerry, and I was one of them. The DLC is not some mythical monster that can skew votes. It's just an interest group within the party.

12. But they weren't found guilty of vote rigging. |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 06:55 PM by igil
They were found guilty of not following procedures to randomly choose the precincts to be recounted. Nobody's saying they counted the votes incorrectly. They simply didn't choose the precincts as required.
Now, one could say that the BOE folk choose precisely those precincts because they knew they were safe to count, but the verdict in this case provides no evidence for that.
(on edit: I hate when I cut and fail to paste negation.)
