Why can't we have all the Republicans declared insane and institutionalized?
Their conflicting views/actions on sex, the whole right to life/can't kill the living ones fast enough, compassionate conservatism, fiscal responsibility/record spending, God wanted Dumbya for Resident.....

Einstein's definition of insanity is one thing - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result - but Sybil (she of many personalities) had nothing on these folks. Additionally, though only a few are rumored to have committed murder themselves, Charles Manson was convicted and remains imprisoned for his role in engineering far fewer deaths than the Republican's have caused - and I'm thinking of their domestic policies, not their empire building crusade.

Crazy people have carjacked and kidnapped the American citizenry, I would like to get off the ride now.

1. Well, I think we're halfway there...
We here on DU have been declaring the GOPers to be "insane" for years. Now all we have to do is get them institutionalized!

4. problem is that the democratic leadership is only slightly saner.
to find the sane leaders you need to get to gravel, Kucinich and the greens.

2. Their rhetoric, propaganda and accusations are usually very projective
Hence the repetition of saying one thing while doing the exact thing they condemn.

3. your an idiot
many of my loved ones are republicans. I don't hate them nor do I think they are insnae, I just disagree with them. Can't you just see it as disagreements? That is why we have this system of government we do. If we all agreed, we'd just make Al Gore king.

5. Al Gore king? I thought Georgie held that title, or is it DICKtator Georgie?
He'd probably prefers both titles.

16. Being a dissenter is one thing.
Being part of a criminal organization and immune from the law because you're the Gov't is another thing entirely!

17. I just disagree with my sub-prime market exploiter repuke cousin who donates
tens of thousands of dollars to repuke politicians, discriminates against non-white employees, cheats on his taxes, manipulates his corporate books, and defends the administration on every topic.

But he is still a great guy, does not beat his wife, or drown kittens and no one better say anything against him.

Do i have our approach right?

And I'm just not ready for that.

I think we'll just have to gently guide them toward the light.

10. Catch 22: If they knew they were wrong, they're not insane.
Under the legal definition of insanity, they had to not know that what they were doing is wrong.

13. Is it a coincidence that most "public" sex scandals are commited by Republicans?
I mean, don't they have like a ton of websites dedicated to this? (Aren't most of them already institutionalized, imprisoned, or something...? ;))

19. Because that's something the Republicans would do.
Declaring all political philosophy contrary to theirs to be a mental disorder. Like being liberal as a mental disorder. Okay, maybe that's because it's something the Republicans ARE DOING.

the capitol building will probably clear up a lot of the problems we're having with them.

28. Because some of them knowingly steal money AND minds.
ALTHOUGH we could institutionalize in a new way. One that would be for fools, i.e. your insane, and foolers, i.e. the actual criminals in this mess we have -- in the same institution since both are menaces to themselves and us.

But, that's too many. The fools we'll just have to live with.
