I've known many who take the no TV approach and after a few years you become a person who says 'I have NO idea what you are talking about' in regard to almost every subject.

So moderation can be a great thing. I watch BBC news and Democracy Now with Amy Goodman on American TV daily, and a constant stream of documentaries and great cinema. No one shouts at me while I am watching a Felleni festival and there really are fantasic bits of television out there that should not be missed. Loving the multi-part HBO 'John Adams' series for example. If you think it is all shouting, maybe the volume was up too high.

I was watching MSNBC the night that Pat Buchanan heard, obviously for the first time, Rachel's credentials. He had already been at odds with her, and upon hearing her credits...he was crushed..the look was PRICELESS. I saw that he GAVE UP..at that moment.
