Curious. All those Waiting for Gore to run. what if he doesn't. Who would you support? |
|
what if what he says and his son has said as late as yesterday that Gore has no interest in running, and time comes and goes and he still is not in: What would you do? Who would you support?

I'd probably vote for Edwards in the primary, but I don't think he has much of a chance unfortunately.
I fear that either Clinton or Obama would be somewhat vulnerable come the General Election.
I definitely would not be looking forward to a H.C. Presidency, or even worse.....a Guilliani one.

4. Edwards. Obama. Clark. (If I can dream for a moment: Kucinich!) |
|
I won't work against Hillary. I won't support her. Ditto Dodd, Biden, Richardson...

Not quite sure.
My district has a Congressional Seat that is GOP so I'd probably bang my head against that brick wall again.

Actually, I think all our candidates are pretty good. I'm not crazy about Hillary, but she's not as bad as what we have now... so I'm feeling positive about our chances in '08.

my vote pretty much doesn't count here in OK for the primaries so I'll just hang loose and support all the Dem Candidates then love the one who comes out on top.

21. yep, for anyone in a state whose primary is later than mid -Feb. or so, their |
|
vote doesn't matter one bit.
Our election system is SO utterly screwed up in this country, in so many ways.

Richardson has the experience in foreign policy and government administration that I like to see in a presidential candidate. I'm not totally thrilled with his positions on some issues but he seems very good on the environment and appears to have gotten over his unqualified support for NAFTA et. al.
While I like the idea of voting for the guy with the long resume--however I've been impressed with Obama so far--I like the way he played that little flap with David Geffen and he strikes me as a fighter.
I like Edwards on economic issues however I can't get over his vote for the IWR. Sure he says he's really really sorry but since he showed what I consider to be such poor judgment in this very important circumstance I don't feel I can vote for him or anyone else who got us into this mess.

19. Then I won't care that much about the primaries |
|
I don't particularly have anyone I care for particularly in the candidates this year, since I don't think Kucinich actually has a shot at the nomination :-/. Kerry/Dean/Feingold aren't running and if Gore doesn't either, I have no horse in this.
I will support whoever wins the nomination after the primaries.

22. I don't trust any of the "electable" candidates, other than Gore |
|
I completely trust Al Gore to stand up and do the right thing if he runs and is elected. I wouldn't "turn my back" on any of the other electable candidates. I mean that in more than one way...
There are other politicians I trust- Jimmy Carter, Russ Feingold, and a few others. But they aren't running.

roll into the fetal position and mourn the loss of the possibilities and opportunities that this country will never know because the man who SHOULD have been sworn in on January 20, 2001 wasn't and never will be.
After that ... I don't know. Thanks to *, the next president is going to inherit a MAJOR mess at home and abroad. I'd really like someone with experience in diplomacy and foreign policy because we have a LOT of fences to mend. It would also help if that person is known and respected around the world. Unfortunately, Gore is the only candidate who truly fits that description. :-( I like Obama a lot, but I don't think he's experienced enough to handle all of the things that will come his way.
I like Hillary, but she's so damn polarizing: people really love her or really hate her - there's no in between - and I worry that this country won't survive another 4 to 8 years of being divided.
I like Edwards, but I'm just not sure about him. He seems like an honest and sincere man, yet for some reason, he doesn't inspire confidence in me. I don't know why.
Ultimately, there's really no choice: I'll have to vote for the nominee ... as long as it's not Lieberman or someone like him! Until then, I'm doing my best to learn all that I can about each candidate and if others enter the race, I'll learn what I can about them, too.
BUT ... until Al Gore himself says simply and clearly, "I am not running for President in 2008," I will hold on to hope. :-)
Oh damn ... I'm going to be seriously crushed if he doesn't run! Whenever I hear him speak, I am filled with such hope for the future. He would make such a wonderful president! Imagine having a president who is a true visionary ... imagine what we could accomplish as a country.
Please Al .... RUN! We NEED you more than ever! :patriot:
