http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0408/9499.htmlJohn McCain’s campaign is intent on using the time it has to expand his biography and communicate more positive information about who he is. His recent “Biography Tour” was smart, and the launching of a TV ad focusing on fleshing out his persona played well.
What are the Democrats doing during this crucial period? Nothing.

Why give McCain a free ride while he makes one blunder after another?

I cannot imagine, if the tables were turned, that the Republicans would not be all over a Democratic nominee at this stage. (Hello, Swift Boats!) Why allow someone a free ride throughout the spring? Why not organize a task force, a coalition of progressive and Democratic Party groups, to take him on? Why not create ads and do a fast turnaround, placing them on national cable and YouTube?

I've got to say, I've been the wondering the same thing as this article. Why haven't groups like the DNC and Moveon started to air ads that paint McCain as in a very negative light. The republicans attacked Kerry last time once he locked up the nomination but was broke, and defined him as a flip flopper before he could get on the air and fight back, we need to be doing the same thing to McCain.
