I call on DU to condemn Glen Beck and others for their nasty rhetoric...
Glen Beck:

On CNN Headline News, Goldberg compared Obama, FDR to Hitler
http://mediamatters.org/items/200802250008

CNN's Beck: "If you're an ugly woman, you're probably a progressive as well"
http://mediamatters.org/items/200802150011

Rush Limbaugh:

Limbaugh's purported translation of Obama statement on Clinton: "I don't know why the B-I-itch is staying in"
http://mediamatters.org/items/200803310010

Let's add Ann Coulter for her disgusting remarks about the 9/11 widows
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13186261/

This is just a small taste of the things said by the RW talking heads.

If we're willing to condemn these people for their nasty remarks that are completely unacceptable, we should also condemn Randi Rhodes as well. What she said was nasty, derogatory and unacceptable. Anyone who cares about the exchange of ideas, discussion and debating will not resort to that kind of rhetoric.

Randi disgraced herself, IMO, and she lowered herself to the likes of those same people that I listed above. She should be condemned for it until she apologizes.

2. They already are
They are the evil ones and I don't listen to them. These are the mouthpieces of hate and what goes around comes around eventually.

3. Sorry. I'll allow Randi to speak her mind. Until something is done
about ALL THOSE OTHER FOLKS YOU LIST. They have been hundreds of times more offensive than her, on hundreds more occasions.

4. So a double standard is acceptable?
No one is saying that Randi can't speak her mind, but she shouldn't demean herself like she did in order to score political points.

I cannot give her a pass if I'm not willing to give folks like Ann Coulter a pass. It's hypocritical.

11. It was not an AAR sponsored event.
It was sponsored by the local San Francisco station. That was a private affiliate party.

There were no AAR signs or banners there. It was a Green960 station party.

thanks for the

13. I say that all the time about Hillary at my local Bar
Mary Lou Hillary is well known at my local bar
and deserves the title, even her mother calls her that.

Her mother calls me a cheap bastard cause I won't buy her drinks.

15. So, when is she on her OWN time?
I don't give a shit what it says in her contract, she's allowed her own opinion when she's off the clock.

And when is she off the clock? When she's not doing her CONTRACTUALLY MANDATED DUTIES.

nor being transmitted on purpose around the nation.

10. Well, still...I think it's nasty rhetoric that shouldn't be acceptable...
to anyone. It's derogatory and has no place in society, IMO, but some folks do get off on demeaning other folks.

I thought she was representing AAR at the time.

16. No they were stifled and put on forced leave!!!
I think Glen Beck was penalized for 10 years, and Rush was put on leave
for 7 months.
