Hey, did Diebold just declare McCain president while I wasn't looking? |
|
The Euro closed solidly above $1.59 today, nudging $1.60. Confidence in the U.S. dollar, exacerbated by the ECB's declaration that they would not reduce interest rates to please Bush when they had their own inflation rate to keep an eye on.
If this keeps up, street beggars will be refusing dollars, not just in Paris, but in New York. You'd think they had already inaugurated McCain, and his promise to extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich had already delivered the final blow to our once-stable currency. Visits to European branches of Starbucks will make you think you had ordered a glass of a rare vintage of Chateau Lafitte when you get the bill.

2. Yep. 95% chance, or perhaps higher. |

I mean,it's like wondering if a safecracker, who just go away with pulling two jobs in broad daylight, in which the safecracker laugh and mocked his victims as he was escorted out the front door by the police and lauded by the Corporate Media for his brilliant liberation of funds which never really belonged to the people he liberated it from in the first place, was going to quit cracking safes after that.

Check back in November. I have no doubt that they will try it again.
Coincidentally, I'm planning a trip to Ireland and the UK in June. The ever devaluing US dollar is making this a very expensive trip. :(

4. Today, I was in France, Belgium and Germany |
|
I'm hitting the sack here in Germany, soon.
Parking at Düsseldorf Airport, which used to be 10DM ($6) way back when, is now €21 (about $34).
It's already expensive. Be forewarned.
