Brigantine councilman arrested on child pornography charges steps down

BRIGANTINE - Investigators raided the home of City Councilman Richard Casamento before sunrise Friday and arrested him on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography, State Police said.

Casamento then resigned from the seat he has held since 1996. A news release said he stepped down "to focus on my family and our future," but did not mention the arrest. Casamento did not return phone messages left at his home Friday afternoon and was not home when a reporter knocked on the door at his home Friday evening. snip

Casamento, a Republican who represented the city's 2nd Ward, was appointed to a seat after another Council member resigned in 1992. He ran for a full term that year, but lost to Democrat Phyllis Koch. Four years later, Casamento again ran against Koch and won. He was then unopposed in the last two elections, in 2000 and 2004.

Man, these guys are simply the most tightly-packed clot of scary sexual deviants around. When I use "sexual deviant", I do not mean how the repukes like to use it, to tar those in love and relationships. I mean people whose sexual urges have really taken a dirt bike ride around the rings of Saturn, where little or nothing positive about their urges can be found.
