Florida Senate passes amendment to impose $60 fine for "Truck Nutz" Trailer hitch adornment.

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Senate on Thursday passed an amendment to impose a $60 fine on Truck Nutz, the novelty vehicle adornment attached to trucks’ trailer hitches that resembles the dangling southern end of a northbound bull.

The accessory would be subject to a fine under a bill debated — albeit delicately — on the Senate floor Thursday.

Although lawmakers said the novelties are widespread in North Florida, the bill says displaying reproductions of bull genitalia — one version has the brand name Truck Nutz — on a vehicle or trailer can lead to a $60 fine, charges of a moving violations, and points against a driver’s license. Other Senate members found the fine excessive, and some thought the whole matter absurd.

“I find it shocking we’d tell people with metallic testicles on their bumpers that this is a violation,” said Sen. Steve Geller, D-Hallandale. “There’s got to be better things for us to spend time debating.”

Geller suggested this ban might be followed by prohibiting silhouettes of nude women on truck mud flaps or decals depicting a small boy relieving himself on another truck logo.

“We’re basically going to have the bumper police,” King said.

Kinney said he believes that state lawmakers must have more serious issues to deal with.

Those things aren't common, but they're nasty and tacky. A pair of grossly oversized fake testicles dangling from the underside of a bumper is not something I care to see.

So long as they don't use the bill as a precedent for anything, I'll be fine with it.

This isn't a "Puritan heritage" bill, this is a "removal of an eyesore" bill.

Those things are quite nasty, but they make me drive slowly next to the truck so I can get a long look at the bonehead who thought it'd be quite humorous to attach testicles to his truck.

Some of my suggestions:

A flight suit: Put a little helmet on the roof and a crotch protector thing on the bumper...Shrubbie seems to like it.

An even bigger American Flag: Nothing says I've got the stuff like a dirty tattered 6 foot flag strapped to your SUV.

Gun racks on every window: (Even though most them only have umbrellas in them.) It says, I can fill these up with my personal arsenal so I'm really endowed.

A huge number of bumper stickers saying they support Bush. Because nothing shows your (I mean you're) nuts like supporting Shrub Inc.

Seriously, my state is going further down hill fast. They're cutting education funding to the bone because of a huge tax revenue shortfall caused by Jebbie's tax cuts for the wealthy and this is the stupid shit they focus on?
