"It’s the one war the Left and the media do want to win: The “war on global warming.”

And they’ll appropriate and trivialize any real war imagery they please in pursuit of eco-propaganda–good taste and respect for veterans be damned!"

Can you picture her writing this?

2. Who cares what angry message Mrs. Obama has?
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 11:53 AM by mac2
She getting her digs in just in case Obama doesn't win? She's not running for public office.

When First Lady Clinton had an opinion or suggestion, help about a plan for health care for Congress and the President (which she was just as entitled to do as Kissinger now out of office) the media jumped all over her. It's OK for the President and VP family (now in high appointed offices) to be on the tax rolls and determine public policy. The media is mute. Only Democrats can't have family members act in official roles. Sit down and shut up!

I certainly have some "anger" but the media doesn't give a damn. Why isn't she angered over the dying/starving children (of all sexes, races, religion, and color) around the world from our Empire Building? Or impeachment failure of Congress to punish those who were responsible for two cities destruction and death of their citizens?

When President Bush first came to office we had that spy dog and pony show. The Russians and Chinese got our spy technology. If that wasn't planned I'd be surprised. It was the first betrayal and treason by these thugs. That alone was reason for impeachment. Anger over events are much more recent that WWII.

going green/global warming.. as, of course, anything to do with protecting the environment is 'leftist propaganda' (according to the responses on Malkin's site). Good find, though-

but she'd never risk breaking a nail, let alone her face.

I'll bet if we looked at her family closely enough, we'd find people who collaborated with the Japanese.

It would explain so much.

Michelle Malkin, she who lambastes immigrants and has gone on tirades against "anchor babies" (illegal immigrants coming to America, then having a baby here who of course automatically receives citizenship, making it easier for their parents to stay)...

IS HERSELF AN ANCHOR BABY!

25. We didn't put Germans in prison camps why Japanese?
We wanted their property in the rich California area?

My uncles both of German/American heritage fought against the Japanese and Germans in WWII. My uncle helped rebuild Germany after the war but took no wealth with him but his war bride (the first German war bride). We can't say that about the Bush administration hacks when they went to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan.

29. Remember how Bush said he wouldn't leave Afghanistan
in ruins like his father? He would help the women who are being oppressed, etc. Just let him go after one man...Bin Laden. Which he did and destroyed the country while doing it. Forget Bin Laden didn't attack us.

They don't have oil but the gas and oil pipelines have to go through there. Why do you suppose Russia, Britain, and we wanted their country?

Busn lie? Yes zbdent.

27. ...as opposed to trivializing global warming.
The right-wing chuckleheads are not afraid of trivializing the sacrifices of our troops--that's job one for them these days. What they're scared of is the implication that global warming is an issue as important as, say, World War II.

But it's always Opposite Day in Wingnut America.

31. I'll bet that Michelle Malkin doesn't even know the true story of the flag raising on Iwo Jima
There has been a long standing controversy surrounding Joe Rosenthal's famous picture. Many people claim that it was staged and, in fact, the picture WAS staged. The picture that became famous was the second picture taken of a DIFFERENT flag than the one that was originally raised. Here's part of what I found with a link:

"They call that the Iwo Jima flag-raising, which it ain't," declared Charles Lindberg, a retired electrician in Richfield, Minn., who is the last surviving member of either flag-raising - in his case, the first."It's a good picture," Lindberg conceded. "I even told Joe Rosenthal that it was a good picture. But me and him get into a few arguments."

That is because Lindberg, like others in the first-flag raising, believed that all the glory was showered on the second flag-raisers, who were less deserving.Rosenthal doesn't argue that one group was more deserving than another. "In my own opinion, any one of those troops who had their feet on Iwo Jima is a hero."

The fact is that neither set of flag-raisers encountered serious resistance from the Japanese as they scaled Mount Suribachi that day. And in retrospect, the scaling of Mount Suribachi was not the great turning point in the battle that it may have seemed: THE FIGHTING AT IWO JIMA CONTINUED FOR 31 MORE DAYS!"

Just like the toppling of Saddam's statue or the "Mission Accomplished" banner, the incurious American news consumer, like Malkin, is satisfied with symbolic gestures regardless of the truth behind those gestures.
