3. This is great news!
This is a far more intelligent solution than encouraging people to stop eating meat altogether (which is harmful to human health--as I discovered first-hand when I stopped eating meat, and developed dangerous vitamin deficiency problems).

Greedy factory farmers are ruining everything that made the American farmer so important in building this country. They're the ones abusing the animals, as well as exploiting their workers. Instead of making futile attempts to stop the industry, it makes a lot more sense to clean house and make these bastards treat their animals AND their people better.

I hope California succeeds once again, in leading the country to do things better.

11. Not eating meat altogether is NOT harmful to human health.
You may have discovered problems based on your lack of nutritional knowledge.

C'mon...back it up.

13. Kick
I'm in Illinois and hope this succeeds and becomes a national model. We have a factory farm about two miles from here, it's disgusting.

12. I sincerely hope it passes.
This is a huge movement towards a more humane mindset in regards to animals.

Matter of fact, this is probably the biggest thing we've ever done.

-one step at a time. Expecting a nation of carnivores to convert to vegetarianism is a nice dream, but not gonna happen.

19. Please Let These Things Pass, All Over the Country
Anybody who learns anything at all about these huge factory farms, with their cruel, exploitive practices, knows that something extreme needs to be done, whether you eat meat or not. There have been undercover investigations by animal-cruelty groups showing chickens being stomped on and thrown against a wall a few years ago at a Tyson plant, and the recent Humane Society investigation of vicious, merciless violence against very sick "downer cows" who were being kicked, jabbed in the eye, hit, put on forklifts, run over, and various other horrific, outrageous treatment, as well as other undercover video that has shown pigs in extremely small enclosures, biting and attacking each other, unable to get away, because they are so insane from the lack of space, air, life. A generation of cozy relationships between Federal agencies that are supposed to inspect and regulate, and the corporate industries that have gotten a completely free ride for so many years, until there are no, or lax, regulations even for basic Grade labelling anymore, and has led only to vicious cruelty, destruction of soil and neighboring habitat, outsourcing and total reduction of pay and elimination of benefits, near-elinimation of corporate taxes, and medically threatened food supply.

None of these recent investigations was done by a Government agency, all were done--fighting the current Government every step of the way--by animal welfare groups; NOTHING would be happening at all if not for them! Thank God for the Humane Society and other animal-rights/animal-welfare groups: they have done this work all by themselves, and most people probably had no idea, after all these years of "happy-talk" corporate propaganda, that any of this shocking evil was even going on. Please get these things strongly regulated, with real penalties!

I hope this passes. I wish I'd known sooner so I could give it an R!

I almost forgot to mention, I'm 330 pounds. I'm seriously thinking of going VEGAN! The new PETA doritos ROCK too.
