A question for lawyers
Was the Supreme Court ruling on the 2000 election unconstitutional? Only three of the five who stopped the Florida count are still on the court – Scalia, Thomas and Kennedy.

If their ruling was unconstitutional, are these three open to impeachment? This is not a moot question. If we can get a veto-proof Dem senate, (which is within reach this year), we might just be able to get rid of the wingnut majority on the court.

2. It was the Federal Government unconstitutionally interfering in the conduct of a STATES election.

The constitution gives that prerogative to the states exclusively and says the Fed will not interfere.

They knew it was illegal that is why they said it set no precedent and only applied only to this case.

3. Let's put it this way:
The Court had the power to act as it did, but NOT the right.

You can read more about that here:

4. Thanks for the link.
I just read through it fairly quickly, but it seems to be ambiguous as to whether or not it was legal.
