BREAKING!!! Tim Russert is the "Kingmaker"
Edited on Fri May-02-08 03:06 PM by housewolf
Just saw on MSNBC ('natch!) Time Magazine pundit discussing the Top 100 People list, Nora O'Donnell asked him who from NBC was on the list.

His answer: "Tim Russert, of course. The Road to the White House runs through his show, Meet the Press, Sunday mornings. You could call him the Kingmaker..." Nora O'Donnell just laughed...

Just wanted to let you know...

3. Well, Sen Obama has the whole hour
this Sunday. Let's see if Timmy can actually do some real journalism and stick to the issues. Hopefully the senator will not let him get away with any crap.

2. Tim RUSSERT?
The guy whose default setting when he picks up the phone is "off the record"? It is to laugh, so that we may not weep.

5. I wish wish wish that the Plame trial had been televised...
It's KILLING me that this joker was exposed as "Cheney's 'go to guy' for getting our message out" by an FBI agent, under oath, on the stand..

He shouldn't be telling anyone anything except how much he's being paid by this administration to catapult the propaganda..

6. I wish Russert would get caught in bed with an underaged boy goat.
That he took across state lines for immoral purposes.

Afaiac, every time Russert moves from one location to another, it's for immoral purposes.

I wonder if this pontifical blowhard has any IDEA how much he is detested in middle America?

7. He did give Giuliani softballs the weekend before the election 2004.
Totally helped Bush win, that was the last weekend push.

Of course few voting machines in Democratic districts of Ohio didn't help either.

8. I don't get why he's so powerful
his interview style SUCKS. Show a quote from somebody else and then ask the subject to respond.

Just ask your own damned questions! All he tries to do is get someone trapped in an awkward situation, like having to disagree with an ally. It's so lame.

9. Tim Russert Media Whore

In 1992, shortly after being named moderator of Meet The Press, Tim Russert was having lunch with a broadcast executive. The mealtime conversation was about the pros and cons of working for General Electric’s NBC subsidiary. Russert expounded on how being employed by GE had brought him to the realization that things functioned better when Republicans were in charge.

“You know, Tim, you used to be such a rabid Democrat when you worked for Pat Moynihan,” said the executive. “But now that you’ve gotten a glimpse of who’s handing out the money in this business, you’ve become quite the Jaycee. Were you wrong about everything you used to believe so strongly?”

“I still believe,” Russert said, leaning across the table. “I believe in everything I ever did. But I also know that I never would have become moderator on Meet The Press if my employers were uncomfortable with me. And, given the amount of money at stake, millions of dollars, I don’t blame them. This is business.”

The executive agreed. “But are you concerned about losing yourself? You know, selling out?”

Russert pounded the table. “Integrity is for paupers!”

11. He will do all that he can to "trap" him ...
Right or wrong, he has the status that he has, and the MSM is about three weeks into trying to take BO down ... His bias against Ds aside, he HAS to show off his "tough guy" rep and try to put a mortal hit on BO ... Anyone who thinks he won't be at his gotcha best is just not dealing in reality ...
