MSNBC swoons and goes all dreamy over the Jenna wedding, to be "held next to lake" at the Pig Farm.

Jenna Bush, fiance to say 'I do' on Saturday

Private wedding will be held next to lake at Crawford ranch

WASHINGTON - Talk about hush-hush wedding planning. First daughter Jenna Bush was the last in the family to know she was getting married.

Months ago, her fiance, Henry Hager, told Jenna's twin sister that he wanted to propose. Then at the Camp David presidential retreat, Hager asked President Bush and first lady Laura Bush for their daughter's hand in marriage.

For weeks, the president and Mrs. Bush kept their lips zipped.

Then on Aug. 15, 2007, Hager rousted Jenna at 4 a.m. to go hiking on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park in Maine. "It was freezing," Jenna recalled. "But we got up, and we hiked in the dark for an hour and a half, and then when we got towards the top — with the sunrise — he asked me."

1. I hope they fawn all over her wedding for the next several days
IF it gets Rev. Wright out of the news.

2. And because of Iraq , no one is supposed to get married? Or have a wedding?
I am no Bush fan but I wish the best to Jenna. She seems like a nice girl and deserves to have a nice wedding just as any bride does. This is just mean spirited.

4. Jenna is the apologetic daughter of a monster
She allows herself to be used to prop him up, therefore she places herself in the line of fire.

7. Nice girl who campaigned for her dad
Mean spirited? Maybe. But not even half as mean spirited as this:

Bush's Death Factory
by Derrick Z. Jackson

GEORGE W. BUSH'S dogged denial of factory defects in the death machinery of Texas invites memories of Lyndon Johnson telling us how we were defoliating the North Vietnamese into target range. In the beginning, one could charitably concede that the two men were merely bullheaded souls, filled with false pride and false missions, trying to persuade us we needed to slaughter some criminals or a whole nation into submission.

Johnson's stubbornness became massacres and suicide battles abroad and dead students at home. Bush's pathological denials have exploded into a time line that makes it easy to depict him, in the political sense, as a serial killer, indiscriminately dispensing with the despised and chuckling over their bodies.

Bush, remember, has gloated about the death penalty in more than just the presidential debates. He is the same Bush who last year ridiculed death row inmate Karla Faye Tucker, whining in mock exaggeration in an interview that Tucker begged, ''Please don't kill me.'' Bush, who has made his Christianity part of his resume, mocked Tucker even though she said she had found Christ.

5. I suspect that "lake" is actually the swimming pool.
Edited on Tue May-06-08 03:35 PM by LibDemAlways
Of course the photos that are released will deliberately be taken with hay in the background to keep the sheeple convinced that the Bush spread is actually a "ranch" instead of a sleek, modern mansion with every amenity that just happens to be sitting in nowhereville Texas

23. Good one, and how appropriate for these
latter day Beverly Hillbillies.

Judging by the color of the so-called "lake," it's more of a mud puddle. Jenna's not going to get anywhere near it in her Oscar de la Renta. My bet's on the pool area.

11. At least she decided to have it out of public view (AKA the White House)
She stated something about being more simple in those regards, and I do respect that given that her shithead father has us at war. I also appreciate that she didn't jump on "I'm voting for the Republican" bandwagon that Pickles did. Maybe her offspring will turn out decent. Not counting on it - but one can hope.
