On this Mother's Day...I need a hug

My Mom passed on last night at 11:20, at home, at peace, surrounded by loving family.
She was 74.

I know exactly how you feel, my own mother passed away many years ago (she was only 62) but I think of her always and have always wished that I could have told her how much I love her, did things for her, brought her flowers, told her just how much she meant to me, before she was gone.

And I feel your pain. My mother passed away five weeks ago this morning after a three-month illness. She turned 78 in the hospital at the end of January and spent most of February, all of March and the first week of April at home in hospice. She died in her sleep at home.

Be kind to yourself in the coming months. Be the friend to yourself she would want for you when you are grieving.

I always worry about my sister on Mother's Day as her only son passed a few years ago.

It is good to remind all to do and say kind things NOW and not fret about being silly. It is much better to be thought of as a sentimental fool than to be a silent fool and regret unsaid words for the rest of one's life. You gave us good advice. We give you care and support in return.

DU does have a berevement forum and it is a good place to drop by anytime you need to talk or just ask for support. No time limits on loss. No judgment. Good people there. Welcome anytime.
