Debating the Defense Budget |
|
It seems that from what a person see on the news or does not see on the news one would think there is no debate regarding the need to have a hugh defense budget. However, there are a number of people who think the American defense budget is too high. In addition, it is not just those on the left who think the defense budget is too high. There are some on the right, including the Cato Institute, Lawrence Korb, and numerous other, who think the defense budget is too high.
So, why does it seem the news media does not report the fact that there are people who think the defense budget is too high. Does it have anything to do with the fact that GE, one of the biggest defense contractor owns NBC, news broadcasts and news channels include The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, and CNBC. I am not sure if Viacom or Time Warner do any business with the Defense Department. So, what do others think?

1. When the military is at war, the budget is always going to be high |
|
because, in addition to the normal budget requests that are submitted to meet the goals of the FYDP and NMS, the budget must also reflect requirements for operational (GWOT) costs.

3. Yep. That's perhaps the one and ONLY way that Media IS LIBERAL, "Defense" Spending. |
|
What's ironic about it is that the imbalances result in factors that do not produce defense. What the "Defense" budget ACTUALLY does is put the U.S. at MORE risk, Internationally AND Domestically.
Our "Defense" budget is NOT Conservative. Everything that so-called Conservatives hate about "Liberal" IS TRUE of "Defense" spending in this country. And the Media's support of that budget is proof positive of their Liberal support of Socialism for "Defense" industries.
