RNC-themed Zubaz rolled out for national convention (yes, Zubaz)
Edited on Wed May-14-08 10:46 AM by Fighting Irish

Two-year-old Matthew Duerr, of Maplewood, made his way down the catwalk as local Republicans unveiled their line of official clothing for the party's national convention this summer in St. Paul. They modeled the outfits, including zubaz pants, at the Mall of America.

1. Oh Christ, that's perfect. They need to offer mumu's and some of those
size XXXXXXL Wal-Mart t-shirts with the tacky flag graphics on the front, too.

2. Why RRRepublicans wear dark suits--because if you give them any choice in their
wardrobes, they wear bizarre golf pants, American flag Speedos, and well, now red ersatz zebra-stripe zubaz.

3. Did the Star Tribune find this in the Onion?
Either that or the manufacturer's designers are secret Democrats playing a big joke on the GOP.
I really hope the GOP folks wear these outfits. The memories will be priceless.

They have the pix theft-proofed.

For the kid: You look cute! Did you have fun? Good for you!

For the pukes: We are coming.

More flag desecration, I see.

5. Another link to the pic for ppl who can't get it to load:

Nothing, nothing, says "I'm an overweight, pompadour'd karate instructor in Buffalo" like a pair of those pants.

7. "Asked how the line symbolizes the Republican party..."

It's about the cheapest thing you could make and still call "clothing", and it's almost certainly manufactured in some GOP crony's foreign slave factory. It's also tacky, and even a 22%er can be expected to successfully put it on, since it doesn't have any of those confusing fashion elements, like "buttons" or "zippers". I notice one of the models couldn't manage to tie his shoes, and the other seems to have been unsuccessful at even closing the velcro strip on his...

Maybe the pants should come with flip-flops.

13. I thought, technically, it is illegal to have clothing made to look like the US flag?
Edited on Wed May-14-08 11:03 AM by paxmusa
Is that true or was it at one time up for a vote?
