Thom Hartmann just said he no longer uses "Main Stream Media". It is... |
|
Edited on Thu May-15-08 12:04 PM by corporatemedia
CORPORATE MEDIA to him for now on.
And I won't stop reminding people to stop calling it MSM until everyone does.
I have a ways to go, but I've been at it for many years.
It's nice to hear a "biggie" like Hartmann get on board.
Whether you are FRAMING the message or just telling the TRUTH -
it is Corporate Media.

2. Then he's years behind me. |

I've heard him say corporate media before. I'm sure he was just trying to make a point.

This is like calling our actions the Iraq Occupation instead of a war.
Reminders are good things.

God, it's about time. How anyone can turn on any commercial media and feel any relation between it and the real country we live in--silenced, censored and ignored--is baffling to me. There has been no "public" in this corporate PR mouthpiece for many years, they never respond to the concerns of people, their only interest is furthering anti-Government/anti-democratic Republican propaganda, and corporate profits; there is no sense anymore that this is a "window on the world" or a public forum, but only the marching orders of corporate management to us. You are totally shut out in your own country, and nothing expresses "us" as a society anymore. Apart from that, calling it "mainstream media" is just so arrogant, like you think you are just too groovy for "average" people, and too far ahead of the curve. Calling it "rich corporate" calls it what it is; it makes things clear.

9. They act like Corporate McPravda. |
|
How much air-time (and column inches from the Press Corpse) did ABCNNBCBSFauxNoiseNutwork provide the GE Generals and the War Party?
How much have they provided the story that the experts were bought and paid for Rumsfeld and his masters?

14. The only difference between the corporate media in the US and Pravda |
|
Is that with Pravda, everyone involved knew it was bullshit -- including the people. It was just a big joke that everyone pretended was real. In the US, the Sheeple believe everything they read and hear -- even though they say they don't.

17. Nice to see Thom catching up! |
|
We switched to the far more apt "For-Profit Media" a week or so ago on The H.O.R.N., America's Liberal Voice.
B-T-W: isn't Thom's syndicator, AirAmerica, a corporation?
Doesn't that mean, um, uh-oh.
Never mind.
