Edited on Thu May-15-08 12:34 PM by underpants
The video is HERE
http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=168561&title=indecision-2008-west-virginia

They were clearly not indicative or representative of the entire population of West Virginia!!

They were CLEARLY WVU fans

BTW-Why did Indiana get such a pass from the national media???

2. Your coach sucks. He ruined that football program and should be fired.
Mark Snyder, right? What a loser.

6. Pruitt knew what was coming
and bailed.

Oh BTW Pruitt is the asst Head Coach (defense) at UVa. Probably brought in for recruiting particularly in Florida + Mike Groh has a really bad rep with high school coaches or so I hear.

Speaking of coaches, will Rodriguez have the 'Eers ready this year?

9. Hey, I'm a Ute and we get a chance to beat Coach Rod to start the season.
Edited on Thu May-15-08 12:43 PM by Drunken Irishman
Utah-Michigan, GO UTES!

I'm excited.

But I've always followed Marshall because I cheer for non-BCS teams and have been appalled at how far that program has fallen over the years.

19. And LORD, don't I hope you do!
The Maize and Blue faithful would be reeling!

As a Ute, y'all probably remember Urban Meyer's version of the Spread. Shouldn't be that complicated to defend against DickRod, since it will be so new to his players and DickRod's had to spend so much time in depositions after putting the shiv in WVU's back.

22. Yeah, that's one big advantage Utah has.
They know the spread inside and out, Michigan's players won't. We've been running it since 2003 and I think that'll help them out big time in this game.

I don't like Coach Rod, he looks like that dirty uncle that's always sleezin around town, hittin on young girls.

Eck.

3. B.S.
Jon Stewart should never, ever apologize to anyone. If he started that's all he'd ever do. Its a comedy show but has been more honest than anyone in the Corporate Media for the last 8 years. Sorry if you were offended but no one should apologize.

He should apologize for making me laugh so hard while watching that video at work
But then again, everyone in my office is crazy so it didn't seem out of the ordinary that I was laughing my ass off at my computer screen.

4. I think Indiana got looked over because the margin was razor thin.
The final count was between a 11,000-14,000 vote difference. Also, Indiana didn't have as many delegates and Indiana never means much in the GE because it only has 11 electoral votes. Those are the factors that caused Indiana to be overlooked.

7. Don't get your underpants in a wad. It was just satire and
WV is no more immune from its time in the limelight than anyone or anyplace else. Believe me, Texas is the butt of many a joke.

Relax and have a laugh at yourself.

who were low-information voters, stating that Obama is a Muslim or that they're scared of the 'other' race. Idiots.

13. Indiana really isn't all that similar to West Virginia
Yes it has pockets of rural poor, but it also has the 13th largest city in the country. It is the 14th largest state by population compared to 37th for WV, 10% minority population compared to 3% for West Virginia, it skews younger and more educated as well, overall. Of course Indiana state government was literally controlled by the KKK in the 1920s, so Hoosiers shouldn't laugh too loudly about racial issues in West Virginia either.

20. Obama should've won Indiana
Something like 7% of voters were part of operation Chaos. Had it not been for them Obama would've squeaked out a win here in Indiana. he lost WV by 41%. It isn't comparable.

Indiana is weird politically. My very limited (and possibly wrong because the people I know are younger) experience is people are either diehard progressives are diehard limbaugh fans, there aren't many moderates. It isn't like the south where there are moderate dems vs. hardline GOPers. The people I know are either committed to social and financial conservatism or progressivism

21. That was great!
Get over it. I'm from Michigan and my state has been the butt of jokes this entire season, who cares?

Those women interviewed were so horribly misinformed, let us hope this ridicule inspires someone to educate the masses in WV. Hell we've got plenty just like 'em here in northern MI and we have such a program in place, our local Democratic parties.

Get your sense of humor functional, laugh at the comedy that life is and then get busy educating the misinformed.

If anyone should apologize, it is the State of West Virginia Education System,
for not teaching their bigots and racists to frikkin' THINK!!

No wonder they can't get enough teachers to work there!!!
Teachers fear their children will grow up amidst this ignorance.
