Oldest bust of Caesar found in France
http://www.france24.com/en/20080514-france-archaeology-rome-julius-caesar-bust-arles&navi=CULTURE

French archaeologists have found what is thought to be the oldest existing statue of Julius Caesar in southern France. The bust is believed to be the sole portrait made during his life.
A bust of Julius Caesar, believed to be the oldest representation of the Roman emperor yet known, has been found at the bottom of the River Rhone in Arles, a town founded by him in 46 BC, the French culture ministry said Tuesday. It is "the oldest representation yet known of Caesar," and "typical of a series of realistic portraits from the period of the (Roman) republic," said a ministry statement."In Rome you don't find any statues of Caesar dating from the time he lived, they were all posthumous," he added."

So, we get to see Caesar in a more realistic portrayal and he looks eerily like ... Bush!
Reminds me of when Bush made the dictator comment.

1. Yeah, but the face of that bust indicates the owner's lights are
on and someone's home.

You know damn good and well looking at bush** that there's no chance of that.

6. well if we're lucky -- this will lead to more exploration in european rivers --
i mean i know they've done some -- but this makes it obvious that there is a lot more there.

8. huge difference between Caesar & Bush
Caesar actually led his troops into battle. In his conquest of France, it was his charge that turned the tide of the battle against Vercengetorix.

Bush, meanwhile, avoided military service and the only sacrifice he made was supposedly giving up golf.
