1. What should happen v. what I think is happening.
If oil is getting scarce or hard to come by,
we should be turning in a big way to alternative
fuel and energy.

However, what I think is happening is that
Bushinc is looking for an excuse to drill in
formerly protected areas.

That's what big oil wants, so I wouldn't be at
all surprised if this visit with the Saudis were
staged for that purpose.

2. I think the word he used in 2000 was, "I'll JAWBONE the Saudis to lower oil prices"
That worked out well. Dumbya is beyond incompetent. He is in his own little niche of stupid.

13. Him? Slay anything? He can't even hold a freaking hammer properly
choked and gurly mon style....

The Secret Service took his chainsaw away years ago....for THEIR SAFETY

Then they took away the machette...for the same reason...he has been reduced to hauling away the brush...even if its for those Photo Ops.

He is hopeless

Does.t write, compose, read, think, innovate, build, create, heal, and his analyzing sucks.

4. They are either holding out for more loot or punishing him for fucking-up the war they hired him
to handle, or punishing him for dropping-the-ball on the nukes someone tried to pass them a few months ago http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3300581

5. How is this bad for Bush?
What makes you think he wants lower gas prices?

It's not like he has ever cared what damage he's doing to the economy as long as he's got his.

And it's not like he's ever cared how his party's policies hurt working people, as long as he doesn't lose anything.

The way I look at it: Bush went to the Saudis winking and nudging and knowing they wouldn't do a thing to lower oil prices while he made a show of asking.

14. I don't blame the Saudis. They're providing enough oil to be refined to be sold.
Notice the absence of gas lines like the 1970s? It's the devaluation and weakness of our currency which is used to purchase that gas which has momentally increased its price.

The Saudis are not -- I repeat, not -- our friends. Your family may have been in bed with them for decades, but they are no friend of trhe American people. Do you really believe it's a coincidence that 15 of thed 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudis? And the less said about their record toward women, and their human rights record, the better. More oil? You gotta be kidding me! :banghead:

17. If the dollar again loses half of its value
as it has already done since Bush took office, what difference does it make how much oil there is on the market and what the demand might be? If the dollar continues to slide and is worth less and less, it will continue to buy less oil. To me, the falling dollar is the first thing the Bush Administration should address. Unfortunately, it seems that no one in the media points this out.
