Can the gravity of this election cycle be conveyed to the average American? SHOULD it? |
|

Not just for the presidency, but the legislative and the most seemingly trivial local seats--like Sheriff (I'm in Phoenix, believe me--that one matters big time) and mine inspector--remember the very recent Crandall Canyon mine disaster in Utah?
Is it even possible to convey the gravity to the average American with such a twisted media as ours and the sad, sorry politics of sound bites?
I have an eleven year old son; this election will determine his future for decades. I'm worried that people just don't really understand.
What say you?

1. The message will be conveyed at the gas pumps. By October, |
|
people who tapped themselves out taking the family vacation because they promised their kids are going to be looking at huge credit card balances and they are going to be pissed. Many people won't look much farther than that but that's far enough to get them to pull the Democratic lever.

2. Could there be an October surprise? |
|
Lowered interest rates "to stimulate the economy," lowered gas prices thanks to the opening of ANWR, etc?
If there is, will the American people see through it with the media spouting the Heritage Foundation vetted talking points?

It was my feeling that * was bending Americans over until we gave permission for him to steal that as well. We will see no gas price reduction until we give him what he wants IMO. Peace,Kim

There was a definite drop in gas prices in the fall of 2004, to lull the populace into thinking that all was well. Expect the major pain in gas prices to be during the summer with a miraculous fall to "only" three dollars a gallon after Labor Day.

5. And just enough voters were fooled by it to allow a Bush win. |
|
That's just what I'm afraid of; the ones who can so easily be taken can swing a sure thing as they did in' 04.
I'm still certain Kerry won, but there wasn't enough margin available to make it undeniable.
