BAGHDAD - President Bush has apologized to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and promised prosecution of a U.S. soldier accused of using a copy of the Quran for target practice, Iraq said on Tuesday.
Bush apologized in a telephone call on Monday with al-Maliki, who told him the incident had humiliated and angered Iraq's largely Muslim population, the cabinet said in a statement.
"The American president apologized on behalf of the United States ... promising to present the soldier to the courts," it said.
He formally apologized in behalf of the United States for an insult to Muslims. And he is right to do so. But I don't recall him apologizing for anything up till now. Not like this.
..He did not apologize for getting us into a war on faulty intelligence. ..He did not apologize for not being prepared to fight a longer war. ..He did not apologize for killing tens of thousands of people as a result of that war. ..He did not apologize for causing the deaths of over 4000 of our own solders ..He did not apologize for not taking care of the wounded and hurt soldiers as a result of that war. ..He did not apologize for not following through on his promises to the people of New Orleans concerning the rebuilding of their city ..He did not apologize for not sending in help to New Orleans soon enough, when the hurricane hit ..He did not apologize for calling those who opposed him, supporters of terrorists ..He did not apologize for embarrassing our country in countless other ways. ..He did not apologize for the high gas prices ..He did not apologize for being totally wrong on "global warming" ..He did not apologize for much of anything.
I guess his priorities have to do only with Muslims and not offending them. Not the rest of us. Sad isn't it?

There was one that was flushed down the toilet (or was an attempt to flush). If I recall correctly, this incident caused several riots.

Koran for target practice?
Btw, Busholini did apologize for the Abu Grahib Fiasco. Of course, he lied about the situation saying that "We do not torture."

8. George Wacko Bush will answer to God for not apologizing... |
|
...for all his heinous crimes. And if you don't believe in a god, history will judge him harshly. His delusional dreams will become nightmares before he's gone.
