Interesting piece on AM radio this morning news on Republican VP pick.
Edited on Wed May-21-08 10:44 AM by Winterblues
Seems they have been doing intensive polling and trying to narrow down the field. It seems one of their consistent top picks when compared to Brownbeck,or Huckabee or Perry from TX. or Bush*"s ex Budget Director is Governor Sarah Palin from Alaska. They compare all that these candidates would bring to the Party. Perry has the clout of Texas behind him and Huckabee was a Contender but Palin's popularity is the highest in the nation, over eighty five percent I believe with more Democrats approving of her than Republicans. All those polled kept falling back on the fact she is just so likable and intelligent and willing to buck the Party a bit...Seems Republicans are suddenly finding that to be a quality instead of a fault. I know one thing it would make McCain's Ticket a hard one to beat, I think the Democrats could do it but with Palin, the Republican ticket would be formidable. Anyway this was on Alaska news and I thought it interesting. Now for a really weird idea. I don't want this to be a pissing contest between Hillary and Obama but I believe Obama will become the candidate. What if he were to pick Sarah Palin as his running mate. She has been a fighter against the old Republican Guard, especially all those Murkowski put into place. She has been a strong advocate for the corruption investigations and convictions of Republican Legislators. Like I say more Democrats in Alaska like her than Republicans. What better way to unite a very divided nation than to have a Republican on the ticket. She is like no Republican I know of. She actually cares about her State and her Country and her Family..Also she is an ex beauty queen. I know that is shallow but it has always amazed me how shallow America can be. She is very pretty and has a very beautiful family just as Obama has. It would truly be an unbeatable ticket.......and one that would really begin the healing in America..

1. That is One of The More Interesting Picks I Have Heard
Know nothing about her. A candidate from the Western states would be good; so would a woman candidate. The only negative would be the need to switch parties or the awkwardness of not switching parties.

2. Has anyone heard of her outside of Alaska.
My sister is up there, and she has said that Palin has been a breath of fresh air after the previous admin in Alaska.

I don't know what she would add to McCain's ticket, though.

4. It could at least steal away all those disgruntled Hillary voters.
Not to mention putting a dent in the McCain=3rd Bush term talk.

7. What a very sexist thing to say
Automatically disqualifying her because of pregnacy. she isn't by the way. She had her baby and in fact it had some problems but she will deal with it...

6. GILF Update: Gov. Sarah Palin As Miss Wasilla

GILF Update: Gov. Sarah Palin As Miss Wasilla

Way back in 1984 — the Van Halen reality, not the George Orwell novel — Alaska’s new governor Sarah Palin was an Alaskan beauty queen. She would’ve been 18 or 19 at the time. The only problem with this great tale is that it appears she was in college in Idaho at the time. Meaning, it’s obviously true. Topless Alaskan beauty queens … hooray for America.

Wonkette operative “PN” says this is her portrait from those Golden Years. We say she’s still the best-looking politician in America … and remember, she’s a Maverick!

10. Looking at a VP like this would certainly freshen up
Washington (considering what we've had to look at the last 8 years). Other than her nice looks though from what I've read she is a very good administrator and politician and for my money if you want to be a real "Uniter" and support "Real Change" she might be a solid choice being a moderate Republican. I'm sure it will never happen but I have to admit I'd like to see it.

9. If you are looking for beauty queens,
The Michigan governor was a former model. Though she is Canadian by birth and may not be eligible.

12. Maybe Obama should choose her FIRST...
Our convention occurs a couple weeks before the GOP convention in Nurembu... er, Minneapolis, my bad. Easy to get confused about the location. But I digress... that would eb a fusion ticket that would steamroll Grampy McSame and whichever Quayle he chooses...
