Bipartisan band rocks the House
House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) stands smiling, his eyes closed, his head tilted slightly, with a look of euphoric delight.

To his right, Rep. Dave Weldon (R-Fla.) has his shoes off, as if he’s in the comfort of his living room.

The two men, along with the other members of the House rock band the Second Amendments — Reps. Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-Mich.), Jon C. Porter (R-Nev.) and Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.) — are in the midst of the chorus of “Already Gone” by the Eagles. The harmony isn’t quite as good as the original, but for the audience — members of the Orlando Chamber of Commerce and a handful of staffers — it’s just fine.

“We spend hours together, and we have an opportunity to talk about issues, but never has there been a problem,” Porter said. “They’re a terrific group of guys. They’re all solid guys.”
