RW Beating the Drums Against Bill Maher's Remarks Cheney Attempt
Sorry - can't seem to highlight the text from their site to paste. Of course Drudgie has the story linked. Looks like their talking point next week to cover the skinny bony ass of Coulter for her hatred to Edwards and other Dems and liberals.

2. haha....as soon as he said it, I was reminded he got FIRED from ABC
for saying merely that the 911 highjackers weren't cowards

it's going to be interesting to see how he deals with that little slip, which it clearly was.

I hope he doesn't back down.

3. Wouldn't That Be Ironic
if after all the talk about freedom of speech Maher were fired for that?

Give me a break, I'm not saying I agree with what he said, or that it was right but he was making a point.

I really don't understand why these terrorists would WANT to kill Cheney. Wouldn't that A. Make Cheney a matryr in the eyes of many Americans who aren't crazy about him now and B. Give the administration more justification for the escalation.

I would be quite pissed if Cheney got killed by a suicide bomber. And the more I think about it, Maher was wrong - more people would die if Cheney were killed by a terrorist, because the administration would not temper their thirst for vengence with mercy, or even logic.

4. let's see if I captured it
Maher: But I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power, people wouldn’t be dying needlessly tomorrow. (applause)

Scarborough: If someone on this panel said that they wished that Dick Cheney had been blown up, and you didn’t say…

Frank: I think he did.

Scarborough: Okay. Did you say…

Maher: No, no. I quoted that.

Frank: You don’t believe that?

Maher: I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.

Wake up, HBO: one of your hosts said the world would be a safer place if the Vice President of the United States of America had been assassinated.

.............

That last sentence was from the RW rag.

9. He said "died", not assassinated
There's a difference.

If Cheney DID keel over dead ten minutes from now, from a heart attack, things will be different, probably in a good way.

If Cheney HAD keeled over, say, five years ago, the world would also be a different place, also probably better.

8. newsbusters? Ugh. The only people that will complain about what
Maher said are in the minority. I don't think Maher has anything to worry about. I hope?

10. But the truth of the matter is that the world is worse off for both bush* and cheney having been

born.

That's just simply a fact.

Just like the world was worse off-for Hitler having been born.

In fact, that statement could be said for too many repukes...

Prescott should not have had children, the world would be a better place - or maybe somebody WORSE would have filled the vacuum - I think "The Outer Limits" did a show on the subject - or was it The "Twilight Zone"...

Now, if someone were to say that now that they were born, the logical (forbidden) statement would also be true...but it is forbidden to say that mere THOUGHT here...

Yet, Mann Coulter, Pat Robertson, Jerry Fartwell, and the Oxycontin King is allowed to actually call for the DEATH of Democrats BY NAME - and not to mince words...and the silence is still DEAFENING!

I totally agree with what he said, without hesitation...

13. I agree with what he said
Edited on Sat Mar-03-07 11:22 PM by ProudDad
about cheney, there would be a lot more innocent people alive today if cheney were dead.

I also agreed with his statement that it was a more "cowardly act" to drop bombs on innocents from 20,000 feet than it was to fly an airplane into a building.

You're either for free speech or you're agin' it...
