Poll question: Looking to find out the average age of DU'ers
just curious,

after seeing how few views of RFK's speech and Landing on the Moon video have had so far.

11. I dug into that damn journal of Skinner's as far back as April 2006, and this is all I could find:
"35% are between the ages of 46 and 55". That's it for me! You young punks (aged from 46 to 55) can continue the quest from there.

As for me, I'm going to make some coffee, and get my aged ass (78.3) off to bed! It's been a loooong night!

43. True, then as now, DUers are mostly old geezers.
Hardly a fair representation of the public at large.

Does anyone know of a DU-like site with a more balanced age representation?

7. I wonder how the age of members varies with the economy?
Normally I would not participate in discussion groups like this except - I am currently "between jobs" and while I look for another, I have some time to post in DU.

I do contracting and consulting so when I am working, which is usually pretty steady, I put in 12 to 16 hour days until the job is done. That does not leave much time for little side excursions like posting.

I just wonder how the age demographic changes with the job market.

28. that's a provocative question
I saw a piece on the news yesterday about how young people entering the work force expect a "you're doing a great job" at every turn (because, that's the way we're bringing our kids up).

In politics, the adage is, "what have you done for me lately (meaning yesterday probly)."

GD and Lounge probably average somewhere between 30 and 35, GDP about 12.

12. Prince: "Act your age, not your shoe size."
You don't have to be beautiful
to turn me on
I just need your body baby
From dusk till dawn
You don't need experience
To turn me out
You just leave it all up to me
I'm gonna show you what it's all about

You don't have to be rich
To be my girl
You don't have to be cool
To rule my world
Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with
I just want your extra time and your

Kiss

You got to not talk dirty, baby
If you wanna impress me
You can't be to flirty, mama
I know how to undress me (Yeah)
I want to be your fantasy
Maybe you could be mine
You just leave it all up to me
We could have a good time

You don't have to be rich
To be my girl
You don't have 2 be cool
To rule my world
Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with
I just want your extra time and your

Kiss

Yes
I think I wanna dance
Gotta, Gotta
Little girl Wendy's parade
Gotta, gotta, gotta

Women not girls rule my world
I said they rule my world
Act your age, mama (Not your shoe size)
Not your shoe size
Maybe we could do the twirl
You don't have to watch Dynasty
To have an attitude
You just leave it all up to me
My love will be your food
Yeah

You don't have to be rich
To be my girl
You don't have to be cool
To rule my world
Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with
I just want your extra time and your
Kiss

47. Thank you!
Some of you need to cut us a break when we have our "senior moments." That can be scary enough on it's own. Having a whole lot more memories to sort through can form a disadvantage at times. We really don't need some young punks trying to make themselves feel like a hotshot by rubbing our noses in it. But friendly reminders or refresher are appreciated.
