Conservative Superiority
Yes, there's actually a website called www.conservativesuperiority.com And something called the "Republican Study Committee"

From the home page-
"I felt it important to publish the list of members of the Republican Study Committee. This year conservatives don’t have many reasons to be hopeful but these 102 members deserve our support. They represent our last line of defense against the onslaught of liberalism.

Is your congressman on this list? If so write them and thank them for standing up for conservative principles, if not write your congressman and let him/her know that you are very disappointed that they don’t stand with the majority of Americans in supporting conservative ideals."

The Republican Study Committe has an "Action Plan"... Whats noticeable is that the framing has absolutely nothing to do with the actual contect of their plan. They haven't given up the "family values" window treatments:

http://www.house.gov/hensarling/rsc/doc/rsc_action_plan.pdf

•THE END OF PORK-BARREL SPENDING

•LIMITING WASHINGTON TAXES AND SPENDING TO WHAT MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS CAN AFFORD

•A FAIR, SIMPLE TAX CODE THAT AMERICANS CAN UNDERSTAND AND HAVE A RIGHT TO EXPECT

•ENERGY SECURITY

•INCREASED EXPLORATION IN ALASKA AND THE OUTERCONTINENTAL SHELF

•A LEGAL FRAMEWORK THAT ALLOWS AMERICA TO PREVENT TERRORIST ATTACKS

•AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE

•A FAMILY-FOCUSED, PATIENT-CENTERED HEALTH CARE SYSTEM

•FAMILY FOCUSED ASSISTANCE TO THE POOR FOR THE 21stCENTURY

•INCREASING PARENTAL RIGHTS: A MORAL APPROACH FOR FAMILIES TO PROTECT & EDUCATE THEIR CHILDREN

2. Um, a couple of contradictions here?
Edited on Tue May-27-08 10:59 AM by Mountainman
"This year conservatives don’t have many reasons to be hopeful"

"stand with the majority of Americans in supporting conservative ideals"

If the majority of Americans stand for conservative ideals then why don't conservatives have many reasons to be hopeful?

Typical conservative logic. A is not B therefore C.

3. They still act like they are looking out for

the "middle class" and the "family" - while their fiscal policies actually cause the middle class great harm. But still there are people who buy into it as if the Republicans have some kind of moral superiority. Not everyone is smart enough to see through the rhetoric.

Edit: Framing is everything, and some voters just don't see through the frames. Call it a total lack of critical thinking, or to be blunt, conservative inferiority.

8. It's interesting to see "THE END OF PORK-BARREL SPENDING"
on that list. After all, no one in Congress supports that.
