Republican LTTE - finally gives up on Bush over golf
NO MORE GOLF

I am a lifelong Republican who has spent the last seven years defending George W. Bush from all of the unfair attacks from Democrats. However, I will no longer do that for him. When he recently said that he had sacrificed for the Global War on Terror by giving up golf, it was indefensible. What a brave sacrifice to make while sending thousands of brave men to Iraq and Afghanistan, especially since there is footage of him playing golf months after he claimed to have sacrificed it for the war effort. Can a person be any more out of touch and unsympathetic than Bush at that moment ? It makes me sick. I am not sure I can vote Republican this November because of this statement. It’s forcing me to take another look at his presidency.

1. Well well well, I see the last horse finally crossed the finish line.
It took him 8 years to realize how bad GWB is.

2. Doesn't read like a lifelong Republican's letter.
Reads like it's been faked by a probably liberal, hoping to make it look like "ooh- another Republican jumping ship!"

6. The real giveaway is that...
...it's spelled and punctuated reasonably well. Can't possibly be the work of a Republican.

10. Possibly, but Republican rantings are usually so incoherent...
...it's hard to imagine even a highly-skilled editor being able to make heads or tails of the genuine article. ;)

5. I'm happy he/she finally saw the light but
this is far from the worst thing the boy king ever did.

It's not even his first "let them eat cake" moment.

WTF took them so long to wake up?

7. You know if that is your defining moment -"golf"
Then maybe you should vote for - Barr.

You could defend Bu*h for 7 years and then turn on this - I don't think so.

9. I gave up Golf because of the war too
What with Little Lord Fauntleroy's bankrupting the national treasury, the collapse of the dollar, the hike in fuel prices attributable to his fucked up foreign policy and the inflation at the super market, I simply can no longer afford to play golf.
