My Feedback To David Gregory....
Sent via the MSNBC site for his program. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23580538/

"I guess David Gregory didn't notice the hundreds of thousands of people protesting before and during the Iraq invasion. So now he tells Matthews that maybe the public wasn't speaking up. While he was dancing with Rove at the media dinner, soldiers were dying. J'accuse."

3. Thank you! I was just going to post something similar. David and
that sycophantic Mike Allen and Tweety sitting there wringing their hands about how they could be accused of missing it is just beyond belief.

J'accuse! And j'accuse again.

But I knew it was bogus.

So why didn't they?

Don't you think they should give back their paychecks for the entire period of the Gulf invasion and occupation?

And yes, giving back the salaries would be a start. Give them to the families of soldiers who have had their lives stolen from them.

31. Forfeiting their pay would just be the start.
These spineless bastards should be tried for their complicity in all the death and destruction. The one thing that gets my blood boiling even more than the Bush administration it is how the press was absolutely terrified to do their jobs. They knew the truth and they could have stopped all the murder, but they didn't. Access and ratings is what governed their actions and now they're all desperate to cover their asses and hoping for all this to be over with so they can wipe their brows and give a sigh of relief when Bush leaves office.

Gregory, Blitzer, etc. In my mind they are just as guilty as George Bush. They are just as drenched in the innocent blood of tens of thousands.

12. Here's what David Gregory asked Bush at a press conference just before the war
As I posted in another thread, here's what he asked Bush at the March 6, 2003 press conference, less than two weeks before the war when he had the opportunity to challenge Bush on the WMD evidence or the evidence of an Al Qaeda presence in Iraq. He asks Bush whether he will be able to capture/kill Saddam. It's a war cheerleading question, all about the definition of success in Iraq.

Gregory.

Q Mr. President, good evening. If you order war, can any military operation be considered a success if the United States does not capture Saddam Hussein, as you once said, dead or alive?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I hope we don't have to go to war, but if we go to war, we will disarm Iraq. And if we go to war, there will be a regime change. And replacing this cancer inside of Iraq will be a government that represents the rights of all the people, a government which represents the voices of the Shia and Sunni and the Kurds.

We care about the suffering of the Iraqi people. I mentioned in my opening comments that there's a lot of food ready to go in. There's something like 55,000 oil-for-food distribution points in Iraq. We know where they are. We fully intend to make sure that they're -- got ample food. We know where their hospitals are; we want to make sure they've got ample medical supplies. The life of the Iraqi citizen is going to dramatically improve.

Q Sir, I'm sorry, is success contingent upon capturing or killing Saddam Hussein, in your mind?

THE PRESIDENT: We will be changing the regime of Iraq, for the good of the Iraqi people.

17. And that's the best he could do for a "follow-up" question.
Edited on Wed May-28-08 05:19 PM by calimary
He's full of shit.

David Gregory started getting tough with these assholes ONLY in January, 2004, when the whole scandal about bush's Texas Air National Guard service - HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE service - came to light. ONLY THEN did he start asking some pretty pointed questions. NOTHING before. NOTHING.

I remember that because we were watching it on CSPAN. My husband was, to be exact. And he hollered in to me to come see this! NOW! He was literally hollering! You GOTTA come see this! You wouldn't believe some of these questions! WOW! They're REALLY grilling him! And I raced in and saw it with my own eyes, and heard it with my own ears. It motivated my husband to yell, and me to gape with incredulity, because it was SO new, SO unique, SO different from all the other press conferences we'd both grimaced through. It really was a stand-out. COMPLETELY different from the wastes of time the rest of the fellatio-crowd of White House stenographers presented. It was NOTICEABLE.

29. They're going to cover their own asses for NOT doing the job
they, the 4th Estate, are entrusted to do. They are no longer the media. Not when they are in collusion with those in power.

Their role in society are to check on the abuses of the powerful and provide the citizens with the facts and information to help in our decision making which supports sound public discourse.

Since the start of all this, I've been of the mind that they are all complicit to the deaths and destruction our government has inflicted upon this nation and those around the globe.

They have failed us. They are not the media. They are story-tellers. Hard news has been substituted with a brand of info-tainment.

I found it very, very curious how they capitalized on the May 2006 immigration protests. Hour after hour, day after day - leading up to and after those protests.

YET, the huge January 20, 2001 protests the day Bush* was ordained to the massive peace and anti-war protests across this nation and the world were nearly completely ignored and dismissed. What was reported was crowd under-reporting and intellectual dishonesty.

This supposed media was so freaking dishonest they couldn't allow even one lone man, Phil Donahue, willing to ask those important questions that so many Americans wanted asked and answered, a venue to do so. Despite his ratings, they took away countering opinion.

AND the thing is - those men - Gregory, Mathews and gang KNOW what MSNBC did to Donahue. They know countering opinions, analysis, and TOUGH QUESTIONS were silenced - from their very own network!

Yup, they are now covering their own asses now. We will see them help the Bush* administration and Fox's Karl Rove vilify McClellan or anyone who challenges the lead up to war and the truth. But, privately, in their personal lives, they will still have to look at themselves in the mirror, and lay their heads on pillows at night. They will still have to face their deathbeds, and their Maker, if they are of Faith. Justice for them may not be public, but my bet, for many of them it will be in private.

As an aside, it's a shame, because Gregory has so much potential.

36. god, he's such a dick.
My opinion of him has been tarnished ever since the MC Rove dancing. Gregory was just on Morning Joe and Mika was talking about the White House talking points "puzzled" and "This is not the Scott we knew" and saying that all of the talking points were synchronized. and he seemd to get pissed off. He shook his head furiously and said "No. That's not fair. This is how the press feels too! It shouldn't be surprising that it seems synchronized, this is how everyone feels!" Um, ok Gregs. Can these people not at least use a motherfucking thesaurus to make these talking points look less suspicious?
