I don't care what you guys say -- I think we should give huge props to Scotty |
|
he seems completely sincere -- to me, anyway.
No one hated the guy more than I when he was lying for Bushco.
However, now he appears to be cleansing himself of the terrible stench known as the Bush Administration.

...he's ultimately defending, after all. It sounds to me like Scotty had some difficulty with his mirrors.
That doesn't change the fact that he was a lying shill for war criminals and thugs though. I'll never have a shred of respect for him because of what he DID. It's damage control for the rest of his miserable life as far as I'm concerned.
On edit-- if he gives testimony that puts Bush, Cheney, and Rove behind bars someday, I'll happily buy him a drink.

He was clearly always very uncomfortable when he was lying for them. I took it as a sign of a conscience. Something you didn't see from anyone else associated with those thugs.
It would have been incredible if he'd spoken up back in the day, but we should be grateful he came forwardat all.

28. Clarke, intel guy, tried to warn the people in his book about the lead-up |
|
Edited on Thu May-29-08 08:57 PM by lyonn
to the Iraq war, remember the phrase, agents hair was on fire comments. Then Treasury Sec. O'Neil's book saying that bush was intent on getting info about Iraq concerning weapons, association with Al Queda, etc. It got some air time but now way too many suspect the truth, that's why bush's polls are sooo low. This could absolutely sink McCain's chances. And, possibly keep bush for attacking Iran as some suspect he wants to do before leaving office.
Clarke quit after he was basically demoted by his unwillingness to go along with the scam. O'neil quit too, I think.

The American people are getting fed up with all this warring, hating and down right ugliness that is bushco so who knows this may be the spark that gets the fires to burning. Did you catch what Keith was saying to him there in the last few moments, I can't remember it well enough to write it down but I know it was pretty flattering to Scot. About teaching and turning points etc
I love to watch a good interview and that was a good one.

"How do they live with themselves?" Well, it's very likely Scotty McClellan DID have trouble sleeping, for his role in aiding and abetting criminals. I think he has remorse. Writing this book may have been the only way for him to put his mind at ease.

|
it's nothing we didn't know, but there are less informed people out there, it may make them wake up, or they will say he is just in it for the money. But getting back to my question, why now? when they were beating the drums on Iran, Where is cheney in all this? What about *'s trip out to Middle East anymore being said about that? There is still alot of information out there floating below the radar, just being cautious here, is there something else being planned, you can never take your eyes off the enemy, and right now it's our government.

John was in a similar situation himself, when he came out against Nixon.
John talked about how Scotty needed to get in touch with himself, and get this burden off him. Only then will he be able to enjoy his future and his life.
You can just see the change in Scotty. He comes across as much more thoughtful and intelligent than he did when he was press secretary. And happy.

And, as Dean mentioned, McClellan wasn't under oath like Dean had been.

51. Well I think he's an embarrassing excuse for a man. |
|
The man made it his work to help sell the worst kind of fraud possible; a war of aggression. When it actually mattered, he sided with the most un-American, murderous political faction this country has seen in ages-- perhaps ever.
Bush and his whole crew are going down in flames. They're already despised, but it's going to get exponentially worse as our economic problems really come home to roost. McClellan picked an awfully convenient time to step off the ship.
I'll listen to what he has to say, absolutely-- but I'll never have an ounce of respect for that spineless chickenshit.
Seriously, he's no more respectable than a 1945 Nazi saying he 'never really liked Hitler'.
