So, we wacky 'conspiracy theorists' were right all along. GET OVER IT. |
|
Edited on Fri May-30-08 06:08 AM by Philosoraptor
The war was unnecessary & based on lies, is this a 'Conspiracy Theory'?
When repubs want to instantly discredit anyone, they call them a conspiracy theorist, and make the crazy sign to their heads and roll their eyes heavenward, reducing critics to paranoid nutballs.
Yet, when two or more people conspire to do something, that's called a conspiracy, and that's no theory.
We've been saying all along what Scotty boy has written, and we've been called conspiracy theory nutballs a million times, yet, here we all are, has Scotty too become a screwball conspiracy theorist, just like us?
Was the exploitation of nine eleven and everything that's happened since a vast, right wing conspiracy, or is that just a whacky over-generalization?
I say we are all witnessing the greatest, most deceptive, most ghastly and horrific conspiracy EVER in our nation's history, and I don't think it can be dismissed as some screwball theory anymore.

1. Unfortunately, to the right wing jobs, |

truth is irrelevant. There may be a few left who will say, "Well, I'll be darned! So some of that whacko conspiracy stuff may be true after all."
May be a few. But I doubt it.

4. I Think Scotty Just Supplied Michael Moore With A Lot Of Material For His Sequel To F 9/11....... |
|
I can't wait for that documentary to come out. I just wonder where MM is going to take us to in this one. We've all commented that everything we've suspected about this administration and talked about and tried to warn others about either has or is coming true. Scotty's book is further testament to that. What is left to be exposed that we talked about that *Co put us through.
Actually - I'm hoping Scotty writes more books to further expose the inner workings of *Co as well.

|
Well, not so much stemming from the typical 'too cool for conspiracies' DUer who prefers to be perceived as being too savvy and thrifty to acknowledge mass criminal conspiracies do occur and exist, but along the lines of those who exert a great deal of personal time and energy crusading against the views of those who do lend credence to the idea of conspiracy.

There's a big difference between a "conspiracy" to convince the public and Congress to support the war in Iraq based on misinformation, disinformation, and just plain old lies, and a "conspiracy" by the U.S. government to perpetrate 9/11. I doubt many DUers will differ much with you on the former charge, which I thought was pretty evident from the get go; on the other hand, I don't think anything Scott McClellan has said provides any more evidence that the U.S. government was involved in a conspiracy to perpetrate what happened on 9/11 to justify a military adventure in Iraq.

15. Another Carlin quote re conspiracy: |
|
"And people say, Oh, your conspiracy thing. Listen, don't be making fun of the word "conspiracy". It has meaning. Powerful people have convergent interests. They don't always need a meeting to decide on something. They inhabit the same clubs. They sit on the same boards. They have all this common ownership and they are very few in number. They control everything, and they do whatever they want. two-party system keeps the people at bay. They give them microwaves, fanny packs, sneakers with lights in the heels, dustbusters, to keep them distracted, keep them just calm enough that they're not going to try something."

28. They label us what they are. Ironic? No, calculated. |
|
The use of the word conspiracy is a sure way to discredit any theory. Let’s look at how people gather facts anymore.
In general, people get their bias/news from TeeVee, talk radio or church.
TeeVee news is practically worthless on a political level; I don’t believe I have to explain that corporations control government and government controls the MSM, on this forum.
I challenge anyone to convince me that the Clear Channel take over of am radio is out of a desire to entertain? The iron curtain was a coup, and the RW knows it. We do learn from history, the problem really is that the RW benefits when history is repeated.
I won’t start in on religion, which only invites a subthread. However, the battle of the cults continues and it would appear that some have merged forces, only to leave betrayal to the winner.

at least here on Du, let's not repeat right-wing talking points such as "conspiracy theorists" or "tinfoil hat." Those are smears, used to nip investigations into shady political activities in the bud with ridicule and contempt.
We need to re-frame all the words those decades-old CIA psy operatives have stolen from us: "Patriot", "liberal", "leftist"... the list is long.
We need to reframe our national conversation.

but no one really seemed to get it. Now the funny part is when I suggest suing War Profiteers to put our stolen tax dollars back into the Treasury where it belongs, it is like a funny punchline. Yeah riiiiiiiight. But this really has to happen--that IS where our money is, in the RECORD billions of dollars of profit by the oil and arms dealer companies. This money belongs to the vets, to American infrastructure, education and healthcare, ect. This is no joke.
