1. I never thought of it that way, but there really is a correlation between
Howard's management of the DNC v/s Terry's, and how much Howard is grassroots oriented and Terry was corporate money oriented. You're right about that relating to Obama's style too.

I don't believe in over confidence, because THAT will creat losses every time, but it sure will be a great change for the Country when we can have leaders like them!

3. I'm confident because party structures in many states have been strengthened considerably
and that will make the difference in the Dem votes being allowed, cast and counted.

Collapsed party infrastructures in crucial states is what caused the losses in 2000 and 2004 as both Gore and Kerry lost the landslides they earned because of the DNC's failures in the years and months before those elections.

2. That's right - especially because Barack's campaign has been...
...a continuation of Dean's "You Have the Power" movement ~ SO EXCITING!

5. It seems to have passed by DU, but on his appearance with Jon Stewart
Terry was asked: If Obama came to you after winning and said "WTF", what would you say?

His reply: Kiss my ass Barack.

I swear I hope I never meet this guy.

8. THAT was how he treated Kerry's candidacy, too. It was always about Hillary2008 for them

and anyone else who stood to oppose the GOP ended up undermined by that entire wing of the party.

They were great at getting many to believe the blame was all Gore's, and then Kerry's. Easy to do when you supply the Dem pundits to the networks from 1993-2005.

is marginalized long enough to do some repairs. But the media will certainly be fighting it all the way.

15. Still a better media climate thanks to Rather's lawsuit and McClellan's book and KOs broken leash.
Heh. That already makes it 50% better than Gore had, and 80% better than the post 9-11 media protection of Bush Kerry was stuck with.

Yeah. This win is OURS. ALL of ours. Damn, we worked hard for it the last 8 years.

7. Terry is a great comedy relief though!
Could you imagine him as a White House Press Secretary? He'd have the entire room rolling all the time.

9. Baghdad Bob as a Democrat?
Well, maybe.

I'd rather have McAuliffe as a press secretary than see him fuck up another election as a campaign strategist. Better yet, make him the water boy.

Dean's there at a good time.

11. Dem party infrastructure is work to be done year after year after year after year.
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 04:07 PM by blm
Dean has been working nonstop day after day after day since Feb2005.

Securing the election process is constant vigilance. You do your job no matter what. Good times and bad. McAuliffe made it WORSE by his negligence and allowed collapse of party structure in states he KNEW were crucial to the general election.

Kerry was a winner who was forced to tap into a Dem party infrastructure that was collapsed and in some states practically nonexistent. McAuliffe's failures in the four years he was steward of the party lost that election as the RNC and GOP officials controlled the election process at every level where the votes are allowed, cast and counted.

Obama is a winner and he has a competent Dem party Chairman doing his job in overdrive just to shore up party infrastructures in those states neglected so pointedly by DNCs past.
