Nightline to feature U.S. Attorneys scandal tonight!
Edited on Mon Jun-09-08 06:03 PM by Truth2Tell
Via Scott Horton at Harpers:

The Department of Justice remains solidly in the running to be Washington’s single most corrupt institution–quite a departure from its glory days, when it was widely seen as Washington’s Mr. Clean. While headlines are occupied by the U.S. Attorneys scandal, by political prosecutions (with Karl Rove smiling in the background), and by voting rights shenanigans, there are plenty of other vile scandals occupying other corridors of this once noble institution. Back on April 1, I wrote a piece entitled “More Corruption at Mukasey’s Justice Department” in which I looked at some exceedingly sleazy dealings in the Office of Juvenile Justice. ABC News Nightline, with some help from Murray Waas, has burrowed much more deeply into the issues I discussed. What they turn up in tonight’s show is hardly a surprise, but still stomach-turning. It’s worth watching in order to get yet another glimpse into what Justice has become in the age of Bush.

Maybe they want to make up a bit for their vile Obama bashing.

This could be interesting.

2. It will be the first time millions
of Americans ever hear about the case. I think it's helpful.

Conyers has started pushing this and now the MSM is jumping on board.

Momentum.

4. I agree on both counts, it's the first time, it's helpful, but I also believe
it's more than tragic that it took this long.

I'm also reserving my judgment regarding the quality of their reporting of this issue until the program is over.

3. After Wednesday's hatchet job on Obama, Nightline owes this to its shrinking ranks of viewers.

6. Dennis Kucinich just mentioned the fired US Attorneys on the floor of the House.
Named them all.

9. We got a different juicy story. Sadly, it's a lot less juicy than the fired US attorney story.

So, is ABC News sitting on a US Attorney story?

I wish I knew.
