1. Don't you mean 1.49 and 99/100ths? |
|
I don't think we were paying one hundred and forty-nine dollars a gallon.

4. Yeah--that'll come some time in August |

I also remember when Clinton was savagely attacked in the press and in the halls of Congress when gas inched toward an unthinkable $2.00 per gallon. Outrageous!

7. I remember paying 40-45 cents/gallon |
|
and that was in 1978 after the first oil shock.
The Canadian price in summer '78 was about 55 Canadian cents (CDN$1= 87 US cents) per Canadian gallon (5 US quarts).
How times have changed.

Talk about being raped at the pump. The oil companies "buy up" any other "alternatives" to gas and keep it hidden away until ALL the oil is GONE...that way, they can price the alternatives to what they want when it comes to be. Meanwhile here, I was reminded I put the decimal in the wrong place (which I did, I just came off of a very long shift...so sorry) but...that is why the bastards get away with what they do. The focus shouldn't be on the error the person made on the home team, but the man handling the controls behind the curtain.
