For The Hand-wringers: It's Not About Kucinich. It's about Justice.

I've seen many here go on the attack on Kucinich. The Impeachment Issue is not about him. It's about the Crimes that the Bush Administration has committed and acknowledging them, and bringing them to justice, if that is possible in the current political climate.

To be honest, I don't give a rat's ass who enters the articles of Impeachment. Am I happy that it is a Democrat? Hell yes. There are too many hand-wringers and DLCers who are either afraid or complicit in the corruption of the Administration. These hand-wringers in Congress, as well as the ones here at DU, are the ones blocking justice. If that's what you feel you have to do, then go on the record (as many have) and tell us, just why, BushCo should not be held accountable.

But the rest of us will go on the record as having seen and tried to administer justice. We are the ones doing the work to bring their atrocities to bear in the full light of day. We are the ones spreading the word that so many Americans are now waking up to. We are no longer alone. Democrats, Republicans and Independents all have seen the crimes of the administration for what they are. And now, they are on record. America started waking up in 2006. It is now awake and very angry. And the anger will be realized this fall, on the next judgement day for those who would be judged.

This has nothing to do with politics anymore. This has nothing to do with Kucinich (except that he is brave and bold enough to go on record in the House of Representatives). This has to do with America calling foul on the foulest of Administrations in the history of the U.S.

1. YES! YES! YES!
We have War Criminals in the highest offices, they need to be revealed, documented, IMPEACHED AND IMPRISONED!!!

Kucinich is the only Patriot(with Wexler) that has the foresight, courage and understanding to realize that it is not only important to push for Impeachment, but imperative.

Anyone who wants to avoid accountability for the sake of political power is being very shortsighted. Anyone scared of Our Party suffering for challenging a widely-known, and well documented Criminal Administration is weak.

It is time to stand up and take Our Country back from the War Criminals. DK and Wexler are leading the charge, and the Country will stand with them, if a few weaklings would get out of the way.

6. Justice...
I like Kucinich, he was one of my first choices in this primary campaign but the fact that it's Kucinich bringing this up is irrelevant. It is, ultimatly, about the principle that no-one, not king or beggar or president or prince or god, is above being called to account for their wrongdoings. If the administration believes they have done the right thing, give them their day in court and let them show that. A wise man once said that the US was a government of laws, not of men. Let's see if that's still true.

7. Indeed, it is about bringing crimes to the light
I don't hold much hope out for justice, but some investigative hearings would be a great start

9. I agree
I just called my Republican Congress member's office (Marsha Blackburn) and informed the legislative assistant that I an many constituents would like her to co-sponsor the Articles of Impeachment. He assured me that she would not be a co-sponsor and doubted that any crimes had been committed. I laid out three different ones and asked him to do some research. I advised him that it is time for Marsha to stand up and be an American and do what is right for the country instead of just standing by her party.

12. Here's the thing, is conviction off the table too?
If impeachment is off the table, then we move on to a trial and conviction. But why are there no Representatives who feel the least bit compelled to give us any reassurance at all, even a semblance of outrage over the crimes would be a start. I find it a bit creepy and maddening to see them treat someone listing a litany of deadly crimes with what appears to be indifference.

Americans need to be treated like intelligent adults and given assurances that there will be consequences to such abuse of law. Just say there will be consequences, anything.

13. "This has to do with America calling foul ...
on the foulest of Administrations in the history of the U.S."

Word.

And strongly dissuading other administrations from attempting such deceptions and crimes by holding those in power ACCOUNTABLE.

So now what?
