So, Bush is still on his "Goodbye Former Friendly Allies" Tour of Europe and made a surprising revelation today. He's sorry he sounded so warlike and stuff about Iraq. Yup, that's what he said. He's not sorry he ordered his minions to invade, rape, torture, steal, terrorize, wreck antiquities and otherwise obliterate a nation that had taken no hostile action toward us.

No, the Tough Talkin' Texan from Kennebunkport is quite pleased with all the death and destruction he caused. He's just sorry he talked about it so much and with such enthusiasm because, y'know, it made him sound like he wasn't a man of peace. And we all know how he hates to be "misunderestimated."

I'm not kidding. That's the latest delusional message from the Decider who once said he couldn't remember if he'd ever tried cocaine. I believe that speculation, if nothing else, has been "decided."

According to Reuters, "U.S. President George W. Bush, visiting Europe for the last time before his presidency ends, expressed regret on Wednesday about divisions caused by the Iraq war. 'I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric,' Bush told the Wednesday edition of the Times of London, referring to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. He acknowledged that phrases like 'bring 'em on' and 'dead or alive' had given the impression he was 'not a man of peace.'"

So you gotta wonder, does Chickenhawk Chucklenutz think the world would've hated him less or thought him a more peaceful guy if he'd served up some "please and thank-yous" with his cluster bombs, white phosphorous, and torture chambers? As in, "Exucse me, small Iraqi child, would you be so kind as to cover your eyes while we rape your sister, then machine-gun your parents and carpet bomb your neighborhood to cover up our war crime? Thanks ever so . . ."

A kinder, gentler mass-murderer; just like his Pappy.

And he cannot be serious about being considered a man of peace. Did the assembled Europeans guffaw out loud, I wonder, at that line or just stare at him with open-jawed awe? Maybe he misspoke and meant to say a man of "pieces." It must be the coke. Again.
