Do any of you good folks out there tonight have any input on this author:
TheHealthCareFix.com
He looks like a winger to me, especially with his fancy for using quotes around the term socialized and things of that nature. I seek your input as he is speaking to a group that I belong to this Friday and I am wrestling with whether to attend (armed with some nice rebuttal questions for him) or not waste my time and head straight to the office.
Your input will be appreciated. Cheers!

buzzword for "end of discussion.' People are so afraid of that word. Even though that really isn't what is being proposed.
I would ask how having 40,000,000 uninsured people is somehow good for our country. Why is that okay? How does it benefit our economy, our workforce, our families? Calling it 'socialized medicine' is really a way of ending the broader discussion of how we take care of people in this country, of how we value families. How do we as a nation benefit by having all those people without health care?
On edit: One more thing.. Free market does not guarantee people health coverage. Anyone with preexisting conditions is pretty much screwed. We have had free market health care for everyone who hasn't been fortunate enough to be covered under some employee based group coverage. If that is eliminated then what chance does anyone have who has a pre existing condition.
I knew someone who was denied health insurance because she had a non-cancerous lump removed from her breast 17 years before. Pre-existing conditions would make McCain ineligible for health care if he weren't already getting 'socialized medicine" from our government.

"free market" approach to health care -
Hearing any warning bells yet?
Direct quote from his site - "By letting our politicians know they have no place in health care we could "possibly" enjoy a 25% reduction in the federal budget."
Any warning bells?
Summarizing the above - allowing the free market approach to health care may reduce the federal budget by 25%.
Rather than warning bells, I hear a foghorn.
That's just the front page of his site. You may find more if you drill down.
I hope this helps. Go "armed" with facts and statistics to combat what appears to be an appeal for a continued and an INCREASED for-profit-driven medical INDUSTRY.

I'm not sure whether or not it means anything, but his web address is administered by a company whose "President and CEO Teo Graca...has over 25 years of design research including experience with the State Department, the Military, Fedex, Lockheed Martin and other Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Graca has leveraged this intensive background to develop the Net-Teams community solution to customer relationship management."
May just be his provider/designer; may mean nothing. Do with this information as you will.
Oh, another thing I noticed from his front page which I neglected to mention in my previous post. "Why would we think government can run a "socialized health care" program?"
Sounds like he might be after Medicaid and Medicare as well. That might account for that mythological 25% reduction in the federal budget.
