8. "Support the troops? What exactly does that mean?"
There was a commonly used phrase in the Army during the Vietnam era..."It Don't Mean Nothing!"

Nothing but a public relations catch phrase to the GOP...."Support the troops?" You see now, how they have been supporting the troops. What do you think this does to the soldier in the field's mind?

11. I always try to point out the hypocrisy of this phrase in my lttes.
supporting means doing something besides slapping a ribbon on your car.

16. A patriot would at least, you'd think, want to pay his share of his
taxes during a war...if he supported the troops and the country.

I knew about Vets problems decades ago
My New York landlord's four year old son was burnt from head to toe with acid by a neighbour who was in Vietnam. The poor Vet just exploded when the kids were laughing and screaming. What I never forget from that horrific tragedy was my landlord's sympathy for the Vet who had mained his toddler for life. He blamed the morons who destroyed a generation in Vietnam. The Vet committed suicide in a home and that beautiful little boy died a few years later.

12. I should have my grandfather call
He had to have all of his teeth out last week, which the VA paid for, but now they are refusing to pay for his dentures.

18. I keep thinking about Sam Stone...
Edited on Tue Mar-06-07 07:45 AM by Hubert Flottz
And I know this HAS BEEN and on going problem. I remember when Reagan pushed all the vets out of the mental hospitals he was closing down and dumped them on to the streets!

Sad is the uniform of the day, since Bush came to town!

Edit...

Does Virginia Foxx have any shame? She doesn't know if this is something the press are trying to stir up. Ah STFU woman.

20. It's also the democratics fault for cutting military funding according to Fox
Edited on Tue Mar-06-07 08:21 AM by mrcheerful
More of the blame game to cover up Bush's 19 billion cutting of funding for vets to give suporters tax cuts. Stupid puke logic, blame others for what they did wrong.

Edited to add, Fox looks as crazy as she sounds.
