Because they're casher, that's why!
I've been asked repeatedly why Republicans keep handing so much power to the executive branch when they have to know they're going to lose the White House eventually and that power will be used against them.

My response is "Because they're casher, that's why!"

"Casher" is the pronunciation of the acronym CAASHR, used by mental health professionals among themselves to break the tension when a patient or client is particularly uncooperative, irrational, and belligerent.

It stands for Crazy As A Shit House Rat.

They're casher. And that's all there is to it.

I used to be a conservative. Check that. I thought I was one.

After seeing a string of events unfold over the last few years, culminating with the Katrina debacle, I read John Dean's "Conservatives Without Conscience" and Bob Altemeyer's "The Authoritarians," and realized I wasn't a conservative.

Funny how things work out like that.
