Will Cheney step down?
See speculation by English newspaper linked on Drudge. It makes sense: Libby found guilty and possibility that Cheney may be in Fitzpatrick's cross hairs; recent blood clot, which is supposedly a dangerous condition; Iraq in flames.

1. Welcome to DU jerryme1, I really don't think he will
resign, they will have to take him kicking and screaming out of VP position.

3. He will eventually, and for one reason only
so Bush can appoint the first black woman V.P. The administration knows history will not be kind to them, they need to so something to create a legacy that says something besides, "in a short 8 years they managed to undo 200 years of progress."

4. Sense Has Nothing To Do With It
Cheney and company are genuinely crazy - seriously psychotic. Best shrink I know says by he'd institutionalize Cheney in a heartbeat as a paranoid schizophrenic.

By definition, this means that what makes sense to us is often not what makes sense to them.

11. NOPE
Won't happen. These folks are delusional in their power. If things don't go their way they will blame it on anyone but themselves.

As much as I would love to see Cheney resign, I don't see it happening. He is so caught up in self-righteous certainty. The end justifies the means and Scooter's fall is just a minor inconvenience in his march to historical greatness in reversing the politics of the mid-east.

Hubris. It ain't over, yet.
