4. I don't think they will but if they did, it would be after the election |
|
To do it before would doom the repubs in November.

Stated goal since after 9/11. Syria has only been spared because Iran started rattling sabers at us.
Last time around, we only barely avoided it because the NIE flatly contradicted Bushco. This time, I bet they'll use the missile exercises as an excuse + Congress' other bill this week as an "authorization."

6. No, the check book is overdrawn, credit cards are no longer valid, |

and the taxpayers only have 24 hours a day to make it with three jobs.

8. Because masses of taxpayers are fallling over |
|
from exhaustion, cars with empty tanks are blocking the highways and byways, the shopping centers are ghost towns, and the banks have closed because the dollars are worthless. Go figure!

9. Until a couple weeks ago I didn't believe he would |
|
Then I saw Scott Ritter speak and he said the missiles are aimed and in place and all it takes is pushing the button. But he also said he thought the only reason we hadn't bombed Iran yet was the public pressure against it.
And since too many Americans don't care and never call Congress, yes I think Bush will launch those missiles eventually.

11. I think it will fall just short of war given how stretched the military is |
|
They'll try for just enough of an incident to boost Mr. Security Bomb Iran.
Of course, I don't have that much faith in their ability to do anything precisely, so... Maybe

I still believe that Bush is using the saber rattling as an attempt to put the pressure on Iran; however, with both sides ratcheting up the rattling of sabers I believe it is entirely possible that an accident (and I mean a real accident here, not something manufactured) will result in a rapid move to war, made easier by all of the blustering by both sides.
I sincerely hope it doesn't go that route, and that cooler heads in both the US and Iran manage to prevail, and begin ratcheting down some of this tension.
I believe that France, Germany, and England all had pause to regret their bluster once the war-machines of the various European powers began their near-automatic descent into slaughter, but it was too late by then...

13. Since I can't look into the future, I |

asked the Tarot. The Tarot says no. There will be an attempt by the organized religious factions wanting armageddon to push for this war. The Bush administration is already fighting about this with a lot of dissension within the secrecy of its ranks. There will be a sovereign nation or nations mostly likely European who will tell Bush, "Don't you dare". The outcome will be no invasion nor nuking of Iraq. The last card was "The Fool" turned upside down by a card that symbolizes peace. I thought that was interesting. Our fool in residence will not get his way.
Sure go ahead and laugh, but I don't know any other way to look into the future.
