Cell phone question ( one month block of erased messages replayed) |
|
I checked my messages on one of my cellphones just now and all of my erased messages from March, '08, were replayed.
This has happened on several occasions (maybe 4 or 5) over the last five years.
Do all messages go to some big Phone Bank in the Sky, only to surface at random?
Has this happened to anyone else here?
For what it's worth, I have 4 phones with 4 different service providers - T-Mobile (Texas#), ATT/Cingular (CA), Verizon (NY), and Sprint (TX).
This has only happened on my T-Mobile phone.
And it is damned weird when it occurs.

1. Effective data centers backup files and use them to recover. Most likely your erased files were on |

a backup file and recovered for whatever reason.

It's happened to me a couple of times. I never paid attention to the actual date it came in the display says it's today so I call the person back and can't figure out why they pretend not to know me. I'm leaning to the Agent Mike answer though.

3. Mine are held when you erase them for about a month |
|
Then, right before they erase them permanently, they pop back again, giving you a chance to hear them or re-erase them in which case, they are then actually dumped. Maybe that's what's happening.

4. These were from March. |
|
I was thinking about what you wrote, and I seem to recall that each time, the messages were months old.
And I have had several different phones (same number) on that account over time. So it's not the phone.
It's just so strange.
Once, I heard a message from my Aunt, who had been dead for months.
